Darryl woke up a little late and rushed to get dressed. Before he left he checked his youtube notifications and saw that Skeppy uploaded a video late last night.

"Ah, so that's why he didn't hang out with Dave and Vincent" He thought to himself before walking out the door.

He wanted to confront Zak about the channel but he wasn't sure how. What would he say to him? How would he even get the chance to talk to him about it? He wondered and wondered before blowing the thought off and telling himself he'd worry about it later.

Darryl walked into school and made his way to his locker. Nothing too special caught his eye, until he noticed Zak standing alone at his locker. "This is my chance." He mumbled to himself before walking up to Zak.

"Oh, sup baldy" Zak said when he noticed Darryl walking up to him.

"Hi Skeppy."

Zak's face almost immediately turned red. He stared blankly at Darryl while trying to force some words out of his mouth. He tried to sound calm and form a normal sentence, but what came out was a jumbled pile of letters.

"I-i'm so rry,,, uh, haha.... wh-ho's that??" He looked down, trying as hard as possible to avoid eye contact with Darryl. His heart beating a million miles an hour. He tried to slow his breathing but not much changed.

Darryl saw how Zak was reacting to the situation. He genuinely felt bad for him. "Maybe I just shouldn't have brought it up..." He told himself before trying to comfort the anxious boy.

"Hey listen.. It's okay, please don't worry about it Zak." Darryl said in a low, soft tone. Hoping to ease Zak.

Zak looked up at Darryl with tears in his eyes. He felt his heart pounding and his breathing growing out of control. Zak often had panic attacks, but nothing quite like this.

Darryl saw this and started frantically trying to calm Zak down. The bell for first hour was to ring in nearly five minutes. Darryl never skipped his classes but he figured if he was to ever do it, this was the most appropriate time.

"Hey, Zak, please come with me. It's going to be okay. I don't want you going to class like this." Darryl felt strange after saying that. He barely ever spoke to Zak, but he felt such a strong need to take care of him.

"W-why.... Where are we going..?" Zak said while wiping his eyes with the sleeves of his hoodie.

"I want to go buy you breakfast to make up for making you upset. It's the least I can do." After saying that he looked up at Zak. He knew that he wanted to object, but after a bit of thinking Zak just silently said, "Okay..."

They still had time before the bell rang so they just walked out of the school without anyone noticing. The two walked out of the school zone before stopping to see where they were going.

"So, where do you want to have breakfast?" Darryl said while softly smiling at Zak. Zak's face turned a light pink upon being asked the question.

"It's up to you, I don't mind..." He said shyly while looking down. This surprised Darryl, someone who's usually so loud and obnoxious is standing in front of him, being shy and staring at the ground.

"Well, I'd rather you choose, but if you don't want to we can go down to Martha's." Martha's was one of the local family restaurants in Florida. Darryl had only been there a couple of times for breakfast, but he enjoyed the times he was there.

Zak looked up and smiled before saying "Ooo yeah!! I've never been there before, but I heard it's really really good."

"Alright then let's go." The two headed on their way to the restaurant. It was only about a five minute walk from their school, so the two didn't really mind it all the much.

After the two arrived they got seated somewhere and started looking over the menus. Darryl already knew what he wanted but he looked over to see Zak looking rather perplexed.

"What do you want, Zak?" Zak looked up at Darryl, down at the menu, and back up at Darryl. He knew what he wanted, but he didn't have the money for it.

"Uh... I don't know. I want the steak and cheese omelette but..." Zak felt slightly embarrassed. The omelette (plus sides) was only around $11, and he still couldn't afford it.

"But what?" Darryl said softly to him. He saw that Zak looked rather distressed about the situation and wanted to help him.

"I uh... I don't have the money...." Zak looked down at the menu trying to hide his face from Darryl. He figured Darryl would laugh at him or something like that, but he didn't.

"Oh, don't worry Zak! I have enough money for the both of us!" This wasn't necessarily true, he had the money, but he needed to pay to keep the lights on.

Zak's face immediately lit up and his cheeks started to glow a little red. "Thank you thank you thank you!!"

Despite the fact Darryl couldn't really afford it, he didn't mind. It made his heart smile to see Zak so happy.

The waiter came by and got their orders. Darryl got french toast and a coffee and Zak got his omelette with an orange juice. His sides were hashbrowns and a piece of toast if you were wondering.

The pair soon got their food and talked to each other while eating. Nothing too special happened, they just had a fairly normal conversation. They were both about to be done before Zak asked Darryl a question.

"Why did you do this for me...?" Zak asked while sounding a little upset.

"What do you mean? Taking you to breakfast?" Darryl was slightly confused, he didn't understand why Zak would ask that.

"Yeah.. You're so nice to me for no reason.. I've been messing with you almost daily for years now and you're still nice to me. I just don't get it..." Darryl heard that he voice seemed a little shaky and he almost instantaneously started to comfort him.

"Hey stop it. Yeah, you've been bugging me to no avail for years but it's all in good fun. I could never genuinely dislike you because of it." Zak smiled and looked like he was about to cry again. He wasn't sad though, but appreciative.

"Thank you....."

The two finished up talking before paying and leaving. "So, back to school?" Darryl asked. He didn't really want to go back, but he was probably going to anyways.

"Well it's already 11:30, which is basically half way through the day, so I don't see why we'd go back." Darryl seemed a little surprised by that. He didn't realize just how fast the time flew by while they were in the restaurant.

"You can come back to my house if you want, nobody's home right now.." Zak spoke again, his face brightening up a little.

"Yeah sure!" Darryl flashed a smile to Zak and the two went on their way to Zak's house.
