All in This Together
The sun shone down with beautiful rays. The sky bluer than ever. Furry little creatures hopped and frolicked in the forest unaware of the danger brewing in the air. Although the day seemed to be bright and shiny; Dave's heart and mind was filled with nothing but clouds of anger. He was surrounded by his brothers and people he didn't even know as the watched one of their own get lowered into the earth. Everyone dressed in black as they mourned a beloved father, brother, and son.
YG - or Keenon - had grown up with Chris and Dave before Trey and D were a part of it. He was there when Jay was a part of the crew too. He was also Jay's best friend. Where there was Dave and Chris, there was Jay and YG. They all hung together, but still were closer than the others. It worked for them until Jay got greedy and YG wasn't here for it. So instead of following his best friend he chose to stay where he was.
So Dave was completely surprised that he would kill him like that.
He watched everyone around him cry and sob for his friend. He saw Keenon's girlfriend/baby mother with their three kids barely choking back her cries as the pastor preached. His heart broke as he watched the scene. The two older kids cried with their mother only slightly understanding what was going on. The youngest one - a one year old baby girl - looked around completely clueless. Her innocence brought a solemn smile to his face.
Once the service was over the boys sat in Dave's black Cadillac truck in complete silence. Each had different things on their minds. Trey thought about the times he spent with YG and his family. All the times he babysat while the parents went out. It brought a tightness back in his chest and he looked out the window to keep the others from seeing his tears.
Chris also thought about all the time him and YG spent together. They played ball every Saturday just to keep themselves from going insane with the life they lived. Jay was gonna pay for this shit, and that was on his momma.
DeMario imagines what his life would end up like if he kept on doing what he was doing. Would he be able to happily retire with his family or would he end up like his brother? If he died today what would he leave behind? A girl he loved more than anything and held him down through everything? What was his legacy? He needed to get a handle on his life before it really spun outta control.
Dave on the other hand was struggling with his emotions. On one had he was sad to see his brother go, but the anger his beast felt was overwhelming. It almost completely whipped out any other emotions. It was so bad he had to press his claws into his palms to keep from changing. His leg also shook beneath the steering wheel; it rocked the car side to side.
They were all knocked out of their thoughts when a phone rang. All eyes landed on Dave as he dug in his pocket and answered it. The number wasn't one he recognized.
"What?! He growled into the phone.
"Um...is this Dave?" Someone asked. He recognized the voice. Melissa.
"My bad. Yeah, wassup?"
"Well I heard about your brother and was wonderin' if y'all wanted to come over for dinner. I cooked a big meal and knew y'all would be hungry."
"Absolutely." He didn't mean to sound so desperate, but he needed it. He needed her. "How you get my number anyway?"
