THREE WEEKS LATER...
Dean sighed, kicking off his shoes, and laying his head down on Cas's lap. He looked up from the TV, to look down at Dean. "Tough day?" He asked. Cas shifted so that Dean would be more comfortable.
"Yeah," Dean rolled his eyes. "You, though, Cas, you got a half day." Castiel smiled. He had no idea.
"Parent-teacher conferences," he lied as if that explained it all.
"Oh," Dean said, tiredly. "Is that where Bobby's at?" He tried to focus on the screen, but it seemed that it didn't work. He turned towards Cas. "Entertain me."
Castiel smiled. "You wanna know the real reason that I had half day and you didn't?" He asked. Anticipation grew in him.
Dean shrugged. "I was kinda wondering that. I mean, we go to the same school," he said sarcastically. Castiel punched his arm, laughing.
"I was buying you a present," Cas explained.
Dean frowned. "For what?"
"For four weeks!" he said, defensively as if it was something Dean ought to know.
Dean sighed. "Oh," he said, smiling. "I didn't get you anything by the way." He laughed. He knew Castiel wasn't really bothered by it, though. And he wasn't.
"I know," he kissed Dean's lips, melting into it. It was always so wonderful when they kissed- like magic.
"But we can go out tonight. With Sammy, of course," he said.
"Sammy," Castiel repeated, smiling. "I'd like that. Though he'd be a drawback." Dean laughed and Cas put his hands in his hair, untangling all the wild curls.
"From what?" Dean asked.
Castiel smirked, wriggling his eyebrows and Dean bursted out laughing. "I mean," he said. "If you really want to."
"Yeah," Cas said, though anxiousness was tugging at his stomach. He smiled, but worry lined his features. Dean smoothed them out with kisses.
"Don't worry," he said. "You're sure, though?"
Castiel nodded.
"Alright then," Dean murmured.
Castiel kissed him, full on the lips, and they sunk back into the couch. Dean groaned, gripping the cushion, sliding his tongue into Castiel's mouth. They held hands, entwining their tongues and melting into each other. Cas marveled at the fact that they fit perfectly together.
"If I'd've know that getting rid of Dad meant seeing you two fuck on the couch, I would have kept him here," a voice sounded behind them. Castiel hadn't even heard the door close. He scrambled away from Dean, always embarrassed when Sam walked in on them. It happened often.
"Sammy," Dean groaned.
"Cockblock?" He guessed. "Alright then. I'll be at Jessica's, I only needed my jacket."
Dean stuck his tongue out at him and Sam returned the favor.

The restaurant was huge. Castiel wore a casual t-shirt and a formal jacket, along with jeans. Dean wore the usual. Sam, who had brought Jess, wore something like Castiel was wearing, but along with a tie, which made Castiel feel like he was a bit underdressed. His date, Jessica Moore, was dressed in a pink sundress that was flowered at the bottom. She had on a jacket over it, but she looked ravishing all the same. They had gotten a table by the window. After long, excruciating talks with the waiter over their orders, Castiel and Dean began to talk while Sam failed miserably at flirting with Jess. She was smiling, though, genuinely enjoying herself.
Castiel's mind suddenly began to wander to his scars. He didn't know why. But he kept thinking about them. He had managed to keep them hidden from Dean, this whole time, but he still thought he should tell him. Maybe after dinner, when they had privacy. After a moment of consideration, Cas had packed the blades with him while moving into Dean's house. Just incase.
Dean was rambling on about school. Castiel felt bad for not paying attention. But he figured it didn't matter. They had plenty of time to talk about meaningless things and avoiding talking about responsibilities.
***
After dinner, Dean and Cas dropped Sam and Jess off at Jess's house.
Dean and Cas got to work.
Castiel took off his jacket when he felt a voice behind him as Dean wrapped his arms around his waist. "I love you,"
And he kissed his neck, slowly sliding off Cas's button-up shirt as he did. This sent shivers through Castiel's spine and he forgot everything. He forgot the scars, the responsibilities, school, and even life itself. There was only Dean and himself. Castiel sighed, turning around and kissing Dean's lips. He melted into the kiss, his hands wandering Dean's body. He felt Dean starting to unzip Castiel's pants and kissing his neck.
Castiel touched Dean's chest, tugging him toward him, by his collar. Suddenly, Dean stopped. He froze, his body rigid. Castiel did too.
Crap.
"Cas," Dean's voice was soft and loving but Castiel sensed sadness as well. "What are those?" he gestured to Castiel's wrist.
