Sirius, Remus, James, Lily, Marlene, and Alice had decided to split up in search of Savannah. They were worried about how she ran off, especially how she had looked so distant and confused before she left.
James was heading outside to look when Savannah found him. "Prongs!" She called, making him turn around. He made his way towards her.
"Sava! Thank Merlin! C'mon, let's go find Lily and Sirius," he said, grabbing her arm.
"James, wait! I want to explain why I ran off. It's not because I'm upset about you guys not being able to join us tonight, but because I realized why you're not joining us," she explained, shaking her arm from his grip.
He raised a brow. "You did? Alright then, why is it?" He asked, not wanting to give anything up unless he knew she was right.
She looked both ways before leaning towards him and whispering, "What is it you boys refer to it as? Remus's furry little problem?" She recalled hearing them talk about it in hushed whispers before, but she had figured it was just a disguise for something else, or something more personal and... intimate.
His eyes widened. "You figured out he's a- a-" he said, but Savannah cut him off.
"A werewolf, yes. And that you boys are Animagi. I haven't quite figured out why Lily knows, but I figure it's because she finally decided to follow you all. You know, we always wondered where it was you lads snuck out to."
He let out a breath and ran his hand through his already messy hair. It's quite ironic, how his hair is always a mess but his father invented that hair potion, Savannah thought, before she brought herself back to the conversation.
"Wow, okay. Everyone's right, you are a smart cookie, aren't you?"
Savannah bit her lip, blushing before she nodded. "I mean, those nicknames, how sick Remus always looks once a month, how Lily always looks at her calendar worriedly around the same time, how all of you are always tired the next day, but sometimes Remus isn't there. It all makes sense, but I ran to the library just to make sure I was right before throwing something like that around," she explained quickly.
James nodded, with a touch of suspicion on his face as he asked, "And you don't think different of Moony?"
"Of course not! How could I? It's not his fault!"
Finally, James relaxed and grinned. "Oh, thank Merlin you know now. Marlene and Alice still don't, and we want to keep it that way."
Savannah nodded. "Of course. And, um, good luck tonight and stay safe, okay? Tell the other boys if I don't find them before then!" She said, turning to go up to the Astronomy tower, where she figured Sirius would be.
