That Friday night, Sirius waited eagerly for Savannah by the portrait hole

That Friday night, Sirius waited eagerly for Savannah by the portrait hole. He had done some research and found what he wanted his tattoo to be.

And so, when she stepped inside, she was quite surprised to see him. She expected that he had forgot, so she had planned instead to read in her dorm.

"Ready?" He asked excitedly, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he stepped closer to Savannah.

"Um, sure. Just follow me, I guess," Savannah said softly as she bit her lip, turning back around.

Sirius smirked as he shot a wink at James, which Dalton seen but chose to ignore- he would question James after the two left. Sirius followed Savannah, catching up and walking right with her once they were out of sight.

"So what kind of tattoo do you want me to give you?" She asked, shifting her messenger bag farther up on her shoulder.

His smirk shifted into a small smile as he looked at the blonde, enjoying the expression she wore when she thought no one was watching. The way she wasn't smiling, though she wasn't frowning either; the way light freckles danced across her cheeks, getting darker on her nose. "I have some ancient runes I've translated," he murmured, a proud look glinting in his eyes.

"Really? What do they translate to?" Savannah asked, surprised. She turned her head to look at him as they came to the stairs that led up to the astronomy tower.

His smirk returned. "Wouldn't you like to know."

"Uh, yeah. That's kinda why I asked," she sassed back, walking in front of him and rushing up the stairs.

Sirius was about to retort when she opened the door and walked in, leaving him a good few feet behind. She went to the window, allowing the pale evening sun to light up the parchment Savannah got out to practice the tattoo on.

Sirius joined her on the floor, getting the scrap of parchment he wrote his ancient runes on out of his pocket. He handed her the parchment. "You write it, though. You have better handwriting than me," he told her, watching as she studied the runes.

"Doesn't this one mean 'stars' or something?" She asked, leaning over to him and pointing to one of the runes.

"Yeah, it does," he informed her, smiling as his grey eyes met her green ones.

"Just tell me already!" She insisted, speaking of both the meaning of the runes and his supposed crush on her. She didn't quite know what she would do if she heard the words 'I have feelings for you, 'Vannah,' come out of his mouth, but yet a small part of her still wanted to hear them, to know that the others aren't teasing her or messing with them when they say things like that.

Sirius didn't miss the flash of something he didn't quite recognize in her eyes, which made his heart beat just a little bit faster. His mind went beserk. What the hell is this girl doing to me? He didn't miss the double meaning and so he replied with his own double meaning, "It would take away the mystery, take away the fun."

Savannah hadn't noticed how close they were getting until his words snapped her out of her daze. And yet, she still found herself leaning closer, as did he. She noticed how his eyes flashed down to her lips. That was what really snapped her out of her daze. She looked down, cleared her throat, and scooted away from him. "We... do you want me to at least practice the runes before I put them on your skin permanently?"

He tried to hide his smirk, the way his heart rate had sped up incredibly. "If you want," he told her, still gazing intently at her as she shifted uncomfortably.

She nodded and copied the runes down exactly, doing so a couple of times. She showed him both versions, "Which one do you like better?"

"Which one do you think would look better?" He countered, looking from the runes to her.

"Depends. Where do you want it?" She asked, not breaking eye contact.

He lifted up his shirt to reveal a very toned abdomen, which Savannah had to try very hard not to gawk at. When he proceeded to lift his shirt all the way off, Savannah hoped he didn't hear her sharp intake of breath. She marveled at how toned he was. "Done gawking?"

Savannah looked away, hoping to hide the blush that was creeping up her cheeks.

"Thank you, quidditch," Sirius murmured, which made Savannah smile.

"But anyway, I was thinking right here," he said, gesturing to his chest, right above his heart.

Savannah pretended to think for a moment as she gathered her composure. She pointed to the one that she thought was better, "That one."

"I agree," Sirius nodded, leaning back on his forearms.

Savannah nodded before she got to work.
——
A little while later, Sirius was proudly sporting new ancient runes on his chest. He was grinning from ear to ear, thanking Savannah repeatedly.

She was sure to slip a copy of the ancient runes in her pocket, determined to find out what exactly he had tattooed on his chest now.

He hurriedly kissed her cheek before he hurried out, calling another thank you after him.

Savannah stood there, stunned, for quite awhile. At one point, she shakily put her hand up to where she could still feel the remaining tingles from where Sirius had kissed her cheek.

I cannot be falling for Sirius fucking Black, she thought, shaking her head and turning to gather her things. She slung her messenger bag over her shoulder once she had put everything in there. She cast one last look out over the grounds, taking in the way the moon's light reflected off of the Black Lake, the way she could hear the distant "Hoo, hoo," of the owls from the Owlery before she left, making sure to take her time going down the stairs. She didn't want to trip, but she also wanted to waste time before going back to the common room.
——
As soon as Sirius and Savannah had left, Dalton immediately cornered James. "What would you do if that was your sister that just left with Sirius?"

James looked to Remus and Peter. He sighed. "It depends. If he looked at her the way he looks at Savannah, I probably wouldn't mind that much."

Dalton raised a brow, imploring James to continue. When James didn't, Remus jumped in, leaning forward on the couch. "The way Sirius feels about Savannah is different from how he typically feels about girls. He's liked her since our first year."

Dalton leaned back, running his hand through his hair. "I just... I don't want Savannah to get hurt again. She's already been through so much," he murmured, looking at his friends.

Peter had seemed to be distant; he was staring off into space and not really listening.

"We know, Paws. Most people don't think that teenage boys, much less teenage boys like Sirius, can feel things other than... lust. But Sirius... the way he looks at Savannah, he's already fallen for her and he keeps falling more every day. It's just like how Prongs is with Lily," Remus explained, watching Dalton's reaction carefully.

He lowered his voice slightly, "And with this Voldemort guy on the rise, who knows if we're going to live to be twenty-five? Sirius of all people, what with his family, knows that, so how can you blame him for looking at someone for more than just sex? He's scared and Savannah gives him hope; hope for a future where he can keep chasing her until he can finally call her his."

Dalton sighed, knowing he was right. "You're right. But I swear to Merlin, if he hurts her, I'll feed him to the giant squid."

The other boys laughed, though Peter acted as if he didn't know what he was laughing about. "And no one would blame you," James replied.
