Third POV
————
THE SLYTHERIN COMMON room stood still and quiet, the only sounds coming from the crackling fireplace and the soft breaths from Isabel. She recently found out about this muggle poet Emily Dickinson, and she loved her poems as they were so beautifully written. She pulled a strand of hair behind her ear, continuing to read her book until someone interrupted her. "Hey Izzy." The brown haired Slytherin turned around and saw one of her closest friends Marcus.

"Hey Marcy Malley," She said the nickname she made for him weeks ago. "What's on your mind?" Marcus sat down next to her with an uneasy look in his eyes, then let out a heavy sigh. "I- need to tell you something important." He whispered, fidgeting with his curly hair. Isabel put her book down and looked into Marcus' eyes with worry. She could tell easily by just one glance at his face that he was troubled and stressed, and as one of his best friends she had to be there to help him.

"I'm in love with someone," His eyes widened soon after, like he just came to realization he told someone what he's been keeping in his mind for so long.

Isabel nodded her head and replied softly, "Oh, I know how that feels." Marcus shook his head and rubbed his temples, obviously distraught. "But he doesn't feel the same way I do." He finished his sentence.

Isabel's ears suddenly perked up when she noticed he said 'he'. "You're gay Marcus?" The chocolate brown haired girl looked at him solemnly. He nodded his head, tears starting to fall from his eyes and he leaned into Isabel to embrace her and she didn't hesitate to embrace him back. "You're the first person I told." He croaked, sobbing onto her shoulder. She leaned back and said, "I'm so proud of you Marcus, it takes a lot of courage to say that." Isabel gave him a comforting smile that finally made him feel accepted and happy.

"Thank you for being there for me, always Isabel."
"I'll always be there for you, always."

Slytherin's won a quidditch game (finally, what took so damn long?) and they decided to have a party in the common room. There were green banners everywhere saying 'Slytherin for the Win!', and green themed party poppers. Slytherin's were allowed to invite people from other houses, so of course not a lot of people did because they think they're too superior to be talking to anyone else other than Slytherin's, but Sasha invited Fred.

Isabel smirked when she saw Fred and Sasha flirting in the corner, and occasionally snogging as well. It was quite obvious the two were a couple, but no one really noticed except Isabel.

"That could be us one day." Isabel turned around and saw the familiar smug smirk belonging to Draco Malfoy who was holding a green frosted cookie. "Do you really think I would kiss your disgusting snake lips?" Isabel smirked back at him. He put his hand over his heart and pretended to act hurt. "Ouch Isabel, I was just joking around." He explained sarcastically.

The two continued to talk about various topics, such as why Umbridge was a horrible professor (a horrible person really), why cats were better than dogs, the list can go on and on. For some reason, they always were never bored of each other. They were continuing to talk, until an extremely loud voice interrupted them.

"Fred Weasley from the Gryffinwhores has an important announcement to make, apparently." Blaise sighed annoyedly, sending glares at Draco and Isabel that said "Why is he even here anyway?".

Isabel rolled her eyes and leaned back onto the table, wondering what Fred had to say. "So, me and Sasha have been hiding this for a while but, we'd like to officially announce that we are in fact a couple!" He exclaimed happily, before Sasha wrapped her arms around him and they both started snogging obnoxiously. Isabel and Draco couldn't help but laugh as everyone hesitantly cheered for them, as if they were confused why they were praising a Gryffindor.

Isabel continued clapping until Draco tapped her shoulder and pointed his finger to Marcus who was rushing out of the common room in a hurry. "I think you should go talk to him." He whispered in her ear. She nodded her head and winked at him as she walked off following the boy who just rushed out. Draco's mood felt slightly more unhappy when Isabel wasn't around him to lighten up the mood, or make him happy.

She could hear loud sobs and sniffling as she tried to follow the noise. Isabel saw Marcus crying in a corner of a hall no one went in often, and she quickly went over to him. "Hey, Marcus what's wrong?" She asked, holding onto his hand. "Fred." was all he said and continued to cry into his sweatshirt.

It only took her a few seconds to realize that Fred was the person Marcus was in love with and she laid her head on his shoulder to comfort him. "I'm so sorry, maybe he just wasn't the right one for you." Her voice strained. She had a hard time talking about things that involved relationships and heartbreak, as she has suffered through it before and it was too traumatic for her that it hurt to even briefly mention it.

"I thought he was, but.." Marcus didn't finish his sentence as he continued to cry, more quietly and softly. "It's gonna be okay, I promise." She whispered and continued to be there for him and listen to his problems. Like a real friend would do.
————
It had been a rough night for Isabel, as she had to comfort Marcus for a straight hour and had to listen to him venting. Not that she minded it though, but it was just really tiring. She was sitting in one of the sofas drinking chamomile tea before bed, hoping it would help her sleep faster.

"Can't sleep?" Draco asked, walking towards her from his dorm. "Merlin's beard, do you always have to scare me like that?" She laughed quietly and continued to sip her tea. He rolled his eyes at the girl he secretly admired and sat in a sofa next to her. "So, why are you here Draco?" She asked, turning her head towards his direction.

"I felt like you were probably still awake. So I wanted to say goodnight." A small smile creeped onto the corners of his lips.

"Say goodnight? So cliche." Isabel scoffed at the platinum blond boy, but her expression immediately faltered when she noticed the smile on his face disappeared. "But I like cliche, so lucky you." She smirked at him, which made him smile goofily again.

"So, get some sleep," He stood up and walked closer to Isabel. "-and goodnight." She stood up and placed her mug on the coffee table. "And goodnight to you too Draco." The tension was incredibly thin as they stared into each other's eyes for what it seemed like an hour but it was only for a minute or so. They both had to resist the urge to lean in and place a kiss on each other's lips, but that was just some crazy random thought they had in their head. That couldn't happen, they hated each other. Well, they thought they did.

She leaned back and gave him an awkward smile, then ran off to her dorm leaving him frozen and still. He just shook his head and walked off to his own dorm. The thought of them together was crazy, nearly impossible in fact, they both thought. How could two people with personalities the exact opposite of each other possibly love each other? It just wasn't right.

Well, as the old saying says, "Opposites attract."

hey guyyysysysyys and that was chapter 7! i'm sorry it was kinda short compared to the others but i'm trying my best lmao 🙃🙃
