theo was never one to ever be sad. he always happy, giggly, and drama free. he has two incredible dads, who were in a world-famous band for most of their lives. quitting the band once theo turned 10 so they can finally settle down in one spot, and provide a stable home for their son. they adopted theo when he was 6 months old, the minute they set their eyes on the boy they knew he was their son. when theo was 13 he met his best friend turned boyfriend, jonah.

jonah was everything to theo. other than his dad and dog, jonah was theo's everything. until today, when jonah decided to break up with theo five minutes ago at midnight in an almost empty restuarant. shocked and feeling tears building up in his eyes theo looked at jonah. he's never been so confused, just yesterday they were fine. they were cuddling in theo's movie room watching some dumb movie and saying they love each other. now, the boy was breaking up with him, like theo didn't even matter to him. "why?" theo asked, shakily. he felt like he was about to break down at any moment. he just wanted his dads at this point.

jonah couldn't even look him in the eyes, because he knew the moment he did he would break down in front of theo. he didn't want to do that. he shrugged, "i just have to, o-okay? i'm sorry, goodbye theo." jonah said, before quickly getting out of the booth and restaurant. leaving behind the heartbroken boy. theo, with no way to get home called his dad, ashton.

"hey, bud! what's up? arent you with jonah?" his dad asked sleepily, the call woke him up.

"can you come to pick me up, please? i'm at barry's diner." theo hung up the phone and placed his head down in his hands, refusing to cry in public. the jingle of the doorbell caught his attention and he looked up to see his dad entering in a robe and slippers, looking worried.

"theo?" that was all it took for the smaller than average boy to sprint out of the booth and into his dad's awaiting arms. "let's get you home" he said, lifting the upset boy and carrying him into the car. the car ride was silent, ashton didn't want to ask any questions in case he upsets him even more. theo wasn't crying, but a father knows when his child is upset. when they arrived home theo quickly jumped out of the car and ran into his room. he laid on his bed and stared at the ceiling. the used to glow in the dark stars barely producing an ounce of light, but suddenly they seemed like the most interesting things in the world.

feeling uncomfortable, he went to his closet and took off his jeans putting on sweatpants instead. he opened his sweatshirt drawer and his eyes immediately went to jonah's sweatshirts. with shaky hands he grabbed it and held it up to his face, inhaling the scent of his now ex boyfriend. god did he hate thinking that. he put it on, and as soon as he did he was hit with a brick of emotion. not wanting to be alone, he ran into his father's room where they were both sitting up on the bed, a sidelamp on producing a small amount of light, and they were talking in hushed voices. they both looked up and with worried eyes stared at their heartbroken son.

"dads i-" he stopped and jumped on the bed inbetween them and began sobbing. calum looked at his husband with a frown and both men wrapped their arms around their beautiful son and whispered soothing things to him. they didn't know what happened, but all they knew was that they needed to be there for their son. "he broke up with me." theo said, before letting out even more tears.

the heartbroken boy fell asleep that night in his dad's arms, hoping when he wakes up in the morning it'd all be a dream.
