Ji-soo had just arrived home after a cover shift at work. The dark Jeju clouds threatened to pour rain at any given moment.
He sighed as he placed down his apartment keys and faced his messy apartment.
Knowing he had nothing but beers in the fridge, he had earlier picked up a box of fried chicken.
He walked towards his sofa, after taking out a bud-light and cracking it open. It was moments like these, he wished he had a companion he could walk into each day, dinner already prepared for him.
He forgot for a moment his chicken was getting cold.
A loud crack of thunder brought him from his thoughts and back to his semi warm chicken box.
Ji-soo looked out his window and out to the miserable weather. The thought of going out tonight for drinks with his friends made him feel uneasy. How could he get there without ruining his freshly dyed hair.
He finished up his box of chicken quickly before changing into a pair of black skinny jeans and his leather jacket. Picking up his black umbrella and mask, he exited his apartment and walked towards the elevator.
He waited for a moment, watching as the floors passed on the screen.
"Level 6"
The doors opened to reveal a girl. Her long brown hair cascaded down her shoulders.
A hand flew quickly up to her mouth. A large bruise resided on her lower lip, Ji-soo was lucky enough to spot it before She covered it.
He stepped in, flashing a friendly set of eyes towards the girl who bowed back at him politely.
The wait was awkward ad the two of them rested their backs on the elevator walls. But soon enough it was over.
"Ground floor"
Ji-soo walked out without any hesitation, leaving the girl on her own inside the lift. He thought nothing of it as he walk out of the apartment lobby and towards the hustle and bustle of jeju's market and centre.
The weather hadn't picked up and ji-soo was starting to think it was a sign from the gods telling him that next time he should decline the offer of last minute drinking.
He strode through the streets, dodging people as they hurried to pack away all their food stalls before the rain became torrential.
Escaping the weather through the back streets, he found himself regretting his decision even more as He was met with thunder cracking from the grey skies.
He picked up his pace to a jog, trying his best to concentrate on directions and not falling or tripping on wet concrete.
Arriving at his destination, he yelled out a loud "yes!" In satisfaction. Gaining looks from other people, he awkwardly walked toward the door.
He had got there in one piece, and his hair was fine.
