The lair is buzzing. As usual. Pizza boxes left on the floor, Raphael punching the dummy once again for the sixth round today, Donatello out of sight in the lab working on another creative invention, and Michelangelo riding his skateboard while singing loudly along to the music in his earbuds, much to Leonardo's annoyance.

"Mikey, would you not sing so loudly?" the eldest turtle exasperates. "I'm trying to hear the news."

"Dude, the news is so boring," Mikey comments, using his usual exaggerated bored tone. "Nothing interesting ever comes on."

"Better that than to hear you sing all day," Raph grunts, giving the poor dummy another punch.

"Hey!"

"Would you both shush!" Leo says, putting a finger over his mouth. He turns up the volume.

".....About the mysterious fire happenings around New York City. Just last night, seemingly out of nowhere, an apartment complex was set ablaze. Residents claim that no one is or knows the cause of the surprise fire or where it came from," the news lady announces.

"Ooh, this is interesting," Mikey hops off his skateboard and onto the couch seat next to his older brother.

"Firefighters say that these fires have happening almost every day for the past month," the news lady continues. "Yet they don't have a clue where they are coming from or how to stop it. More on 10 o'clock news."

"Betcha ten bucks that's probably Shredder's doing," Raph grumps, his arms crossed.

"I don't think so Raph," says Donnie, finally coming out of his lab. "This doesn't seem like something even a manic like Shredder would do."

"Yeah, doesn't really seem like his style," Leo agrees.

"Who else could it be? Those stupid Purple Dragons?" Raph retaliates. "I'm sure those bozos would burn down a few buildings for sport."

"I don't know," the leader admits, "but we're going to find out." Leo turns to his genius brother. "Donnie, can you find the range on these fires? Maybe if we can figure out a pattern of some sort, we could predict their next move."

"On it," Donatello then rushs back into his lab to his computer, with his brothers following behind.

"Okay," the purple banded turtle says while typing onto his computer. "Whoa... this is... I don't understand"

"What, Donnie?" Leonardo demands.

"These locations don't have a specific pattern of any sort-- they're sort of scattered, like the fires are occurring at random," the genius explains.

"So, it can't be the work of Shredder if it's just random buildings," Leo says.

"Unless he's just burning down buildings to destroy evidence," Raphael suggests.

"If that were the case, burning an apartment building makes no sense. What conniving schemes could he possibly do in a place where people live?" Donnie points out.

"Then it's the Purple Dragons!"

"We don't know that," Leo says.

"Who else could it be?" Raph repeats himself.

"I don't know guys," Mikey tunes in. "This all don't feel right. This could be the works of a new super-villain! Like, maybe a new mutant that has fire powers, like, like.... like The Human Torch!"

"Yeah, 'cause that makes perfect sense," Raph says sarcastically.

"I'm serious! This is fishy," Mikey defends himself.
