"Okay, maybe I didn't just get knocked out," I admit, looking downcast at my feet as the turtles and Splinter listen intently.

Raphael has been giving me dirty looks ever since we moved into the TV room. Not that I blame him. I cringe every time I see him wince as Donatello touches a burnt spot, while wrapping bandages around his injured arms. I really hope it's not permanent. I try to ignore it but I can't shake the feeling that I screwed up my chance to gain the turtles trust. If that wasn't already obvious. I continue with the story.

"The machine exploded and by some miracle I didn't die. When I woke up, I was bound on some metal platform in a lab room with the white coat scientists--"

"Yeah, you already told us that full-of-crap story," Raph spat, his eyes still glaring at me. "Why don't you spare us the lies, and tell us what really happened?"

"I am!"

"Don't sound that way to me-- Ow! Donnie!" Raph caterwauls, yanking his arm away from him.

"Sorry, Raph. It wouldn't hurt so much if you would quit moving," Donnie criticizes.

"If you let me finish you would actually hear what really happened," I sneer.

"How do we know you're not making this story up, huh?" Raph presses. "How do we know your not some freak job that works for the Shredder?"

"Raphael! Sorede jūbundesu!" Splinter booms in what I assume is Japanese and the rooms suddenly goes quiet; Raph crosses his arms in annoyance but doesn't utter a word. The rat master turns to me. "Finish your story, Andrea. And this time, tell us the truth."

I let out a heavy sigh, releasing all the reluctance and timidity I felt about this, and tell them the whole story-- all of it, powers and all.

When I was done, a huge silence fills the lair. Until Michelangelo breaks the silence with a "Whooooaa!"

"Wait, you're telling us that you got your powers from the machine your father built?" Leo asks. "When it exploded?"

"Uhh, I guess."

"It all makes sense now," Donnie surmises. "That's must be why Shredder was after you. He must need you for some kind of experiment."

"But what?" Raph demands. "Why could he possibly want her freak powers?"

My skin prickles at that word. Freak.

"Not sure," Leo states. "But we're gonna find out." He stands up and faces his brothers. "We know what Shredder wants from Andrea, and now we just have to figure out what his plan is. Gear up."

"Aw yeah! Mission time!" Mikey exclaims, immediately hopping over the couch to the back rooms.

"Do I go with you guys?" I say, standing up as everyone starts to leave to get their 'gears' and Splinter strolls back into the dojo.

Raph scoffs. "Absolutely not. You're already burden enough with your freaky fire powers, combine that with inexperience and you've got disaster waiting to happen," he chides, pointing a finger at my chest.

I shove his hand away from me. "Hey! I can help. This mission is about me anyway!"

"That don't mean squat."

Anger spikes through me. "I know where their lab is! Do you know where it is? I bet you don't because they didn't kidnap you, they kidnapped me. If you let me come with you, I can show you where it is!"

"Are you hearing this, Leo?" Raph demands, turning to the leader in blue.

The blue banded turtle has his three fingered hand up to on his chin, contemplating, looking hard at the floor. "If Andrea knows where their hiding out, we need her to come with us," he decides.
