Maddy's pov
After the reunion, we went to eat dinner.
At dinner
"Do you like it in Australia?" Lauren asked, breaking an awkward silence. "It's ok, I mean, nothing can beat Kansas," I replied. They all started laughing at my response. "Then you haven't been here long enough," Harry said with a lot of country pride. "Ya, no I really haven't," I replied with a lot of sass. They started laughing even harder.
I love my real family. I'm surprised how fast I opened up to them. They are WAY better than my kidnappers. The only person I miss is Imogen. I felt a pang in my chest when I thought that.
"What's wrong sweetie?" My mom asks.
"It's nothing," I replied
"Come on, you can tell us," said Lauren.
"It's hard to explain, and I really don't want to talk about it," I say. It's true. Right now, I just want Imogen off my mind right now. I really should've woken her up so we could say bye. No, Maddy! Get these thoughts out of your head.
The waiter walks over to our table. "Do you want any dessert?" He asks. We all shake our head because we were all full. After we paid, we all piled into my mom's car. The order is, mom is driving, Lauren in the front, Harry in the middle row of seats, and Ashton and I in the back. I leaned on his shoulder and felt my eyes getting heavy. I was so jet lagged! Then Ashton started singing "Lean on Me" in an old grandpa voice. (A.N.Remember that keek?😋) "Stop!" I yelled/giggles and hit his shoulder. I sat up and leaned my head on the window. He gave me a playful pout. "Oh I'm sorry," I said, mocking his pout. I leaned my head on the window again and right when I was about to fall asleep, Ashton yanks my arm and pulls me onto his arm. "Really?" I ask. "Mhm.." He replies sassily. This family is very sassy, and I love it! I end up letting the darkness take over and fall into a deep sleep on Ashton's arm and dream about a dessert world with brownies and all that crap.
"Awww! That's so cute!" Lauren squeals. I open my eyes to see her and my mom taking pictures. I use my ninja moves to grab both of their phones and start deleting the pictures as I run into the house, but sadly, I'm not a ninja. I ran right into the door. The phones are ok though!
They all stood behind me laughing their heads off. I stuck my tongue out at them. I walk back to the door and jiggled the nob. I forgot it's locked. I stepped to the side to let my mom unlock the door. Once it was unlocked, I ran in.

I'm sorry, this was a filler. I had an idea but I didn't have enough time to put it in, so it will be in the next chapter.
So, because of the wait y'all have had during this story, I'm challenging myself to have the next chapter up by Tuesday.
