After I had packed a bag with some things to stay the night at Lucy’s, she and I walked to her place hand in hand. When we arrived, she immediately got to cooking dinner. It was only 6 in the afternoon but she knew I must be starving since I was asleep for so pretty much the entire day. “You can just put your things in my room.” She told me. I nodded and went to her room.

Her room was pretty big, she had her bed up against the wall underneath a window, a small couch near the middle of the room, some bookcases up against a wall with a desk covered in paper sitting opposite the shelves. I knew she had been writing a novel but I hadn’t read it yet. “Claire can you come down here?” I heard her yell from the kitchen. “Coming!” I replied, then running down the hall to see what she needed.

I saw Lucy at the stove and a wave of delicious smells hit me like a brick wall. Stopping in my tracks, I sniffed the air and practically drooled. My heightened sense of smell, caused by me being a dragon slayer, identified what Lucy was cooking. One of my favorite meals, bacon macaroni and cheese. She turned around and saw me practically breaking down, she knew just how much I loved the smell.

Then, I snapped out of my food trance when I heard Lucy laughing hysterically. “What?” I said with a pouty face. “You should see your face Claire, it’s priceless!” She continued laughing; I just slumped my shoulders and sat down at the table.

When she finally stopped laughing her ass off I turned to her and asked, “When is the food gonna be done, I’m starving.” Right as I said that, loud rumbling noises came from my stomach causing Lucy to giggle. “It’s ready now.” She said as she took the pan out of the oven. When she put the pan on the table I actually let out a low growl, “Your baked mac and cheese is the best Lucy!” She set 2 large plates and forks on the table and sat down. “Well don’t just sit there, dig in.” “You don’t have to tell me twice!” I scooped out a huge mound of the delicious cheesiness and plopped it on my plate. When I heard Lucy laughing I looked up to realize that I’d just taken about half of what she made. “Oh I’m sorry Lu-chan.” “It’s alright Claire-chan! What’s left is more than enough for me.” She gave me a reassuring smile as she helped herself to some dinner.

*Timeskip to 8pm*

We were sitting side by side on Lucy’s bed talking about the guild members when she asked me, “Do you have a crush on a guy in the guild?” She raised her eyebrows and stared at me wide eyed. I gulped and decided to tell her about that night, “Lucy, I have to tell you something.” She must’ve seen the seriousness in my face because her expression changed from excitement to worry. Then, I started telling her about how Laxus saved my life.
