"Where is the first princess, Princess Hana?" Demanded the Lord of the Earth Tribe, Lee Geun-Tae impatiently. "I heard she returned home for Princess Yona's birthday celebration. She should be here to give us explanation."

The generals of the Five Tribes had been summoned to the castle for an urgent meeting. They just weren't expecting to hear about the sudden death of the king.

Soo-won and Kye-sook ambled into the room, but only the two of them. The orange-haired princess was nowhere in sight.

"Princess Hana is still devastated from the tragedy of her father's death, so we thought we shouldn't disturb her with political matters," Kye-sook explained, "she sent her regards to everyone in this room and she apologized for not being able to present herself. Lord Soo-won will conduct this meeting in her stead."

Soo-won stepped forward and stood in front of the generals, who were studying every of his move. If he were to be honest, he was nervous, standing in front of these notable leaders. But he was soon to be king, he must get rid of whatever fear he had in him, if he wanted to be respected.

Mustering his courage, Soo-won started talking, "His Majesty was murdered by someone 3 days ago. We don't know where Princess Yona and General Hak are. We are currently searching for them, so please leave this matter to us. If you happened to find them, contact the castle and inform us immediately. You are not allowed to mention about this to anyone, or else it'd cause disruption in the kingdom."

"Even if we don't do that, there's already an instability in the kingdom," the general of Water Tribe, An Joon-gi remarked calmly, his eyes were closed as he sipped the tea from the cup in his hand, "the neighboring countries are just waiting for their chance to attack us. We're terribly vulnerable right now."

"Indeed," Kang Soo-jin, the Fire Tribe's general agreed while nodding his head, "Emperor Il gave away our territories and presented them to other countries to avoid conflicts."

"The power of our kingdom has been declining. Other countries scoff at us like we're dirt," Geun-tae clenched his fists, "now is not the time for strife within the kingdom. It'll only make things worse."

"That's why, we need a king," said Soo-jin with a smirk, looking over at Soo-won and Kye-sook. Soo-won kept a straight face, but Kye-sook nodded once in approval. "Someone who's capable of uniting the tribes and leading the kingdom towards prosperity," Soo-jin finished.

The room fell silent at the mention of the ascension. If a son had been born to King Il, it would have been easier. But King Il died, leaving only two daughters behind. One was missing, and the other had just returned home, who probably had no interest in being the queen considering she had abdicated it before.

Kye-sook cleared his throat, "while it is a matter of concern, the heiress, Princess Yona is absent. The one who has the strongest claim to the throne is her sister, Princess Hana, who was the original crown princess. She needs a king to help her rule by her side, considering she has been away from the castle for a long time. And who else is a more qualified choice than Lord Soo-won, the son of Lord Yu-hon?"

The sound of a fist slamming into the table surprised the other generals. All of them looked over to the former general of the Wind Tribe, Elder Mundok, who had not spoken a word since the summit started. "Hold on a second, boy," Mundok glowered at Kye-sook, "Princess Hana has abdicated her claim to the throne and passed it to Princess Yona. There's no confirmation that Princess Yona is dead, so by right, the throne still belongs to her. And does Princess Hana even agree to this?"
