It's been a week since Tom left. There has been countless FaceTimes, phone calls and text messages between the two of us. I leave for New York in a few days. I've been getting prepared for that. Having fittings, meetings, and going through what exactly everyday will look like while I'm there. It's been a lot. Today I have the day off, so I'm on my way to have lunch with my niece/ best friend, Zink. I don't normally go and eat out but today I'm forcing myself. I get to the restaurant before Zink so a server takes me to my seat and I wait. I get a call from Tom. My stomach instantly gets butterflies, will that ever go away? He should've just landed in Ireland for a family friends wedding with his family.

"Hello?"

"Hey baby. I just landed in Dublin. What are you doing?"

"I'm waiting on Zink. We're out having lunch" I tell him

"What? And you didn't order in? What's the occasion?" He laughs at me

"Shut up! But I'm not gonna lie I did force myself out of the house today"

"Well good. Hey I'm about to get in the car to go to the hotel. I'll FaceTime you tonight?"

"Yes, please" I tell him

"I love you. Tell Zink I say hello"

"I will. Love you too. Bye"

I miss him. Sometime I think I miss him an unhealthy amount. I see Zink walk in, finally. I wave her down

"Why is parking so hard to find here every time?" She complains. I get up to hug her then we both sit down.

"So what's up with you?" I ask. Zink just graduated college and wants to a preschool teacher. She's been on the hunt for while now

"I think I found a job. Well.. hopefully, I have an interview tomorrow!"

"Oh my God congratulations! It'll go amazing, trust me. They'll love you"

"I hope so we'll see but enough about me! I need every little detail about you & Tom. Everything still going amazing?"

I feel my cheeks heat up. I rarely get to talk about my relationship since it's pretty much under wraps. Only close family and a selected number of friends know, and I want to keep it that way.

"It's going really great. I'm in a relationship with my favorite person on the planet so I can't complain. It's good"

Our waiter interrupts us and we tell her our orders and then she off.

"Aww I'm so happy for you. He's such a great guy"

"Yeah he is" I say "Oh! He told me to tell you he said 'hi'"

"Ask him when he's going to invite me to London" she laughs

"We should go together! I want to go visit soon. I'm serious" I tell her

"I know you are" she laughs again "So how's the long distance been? I could never do it but you guys seem to manage it pretty well"

"It's alright. I mean obviously I would love to be with him all the time but we make it work. It's not easy though"

"Yeah well do you guys sext?" She asks. My cheeks are definitely red now. I look around and make sure no one is listening and no one is an earshot of our conversation and probably could care less what we're talking about.

"Zink!" I give her a look. We're the same age and basically grew up together. She's very forthcoming about sex and talking about it but I guess I'm just a little more reserved when it comes to that stuff.
