Just the two of us

The party is officially over. It's just my mom and niece Zink, who's really like my cousin because we're the same age, and we're cleaning up, packing up all of the leftovers. Tom went upstairs to shower not too long ago. I feel so bad he got off a 10 hour flight, came straight here. Didn't shower or anything and is probably jet-lagged as well. He's a trooper. I need to tell him how grateful I am that he would do all that for me. I don't deserve him.

"Alright, I got my plates to go. Do you need some help with the cleanup, honey?"

"It's alright mom, Darnell has a cleaning service coming tomorrow" I tell her

"Okay well maybe I'll see you tomorrow?" She knows since Tom is here my time will be pretty much occupied with him.

"Yeah, maybe. If not tomorrow then the next day" hoping that is a good enough answer for her.

"Amazing. I want to take you guys to this yoga class-"

I stop her mid sentence "I'm not doing that but I'm almost sure Tom will so I'll ask him"
She hugs me "Oh goodie, call me then"
I walk her to the door. "And be safe" she gives me a look.

"Mom!" I'm absolutely mortified.

"Hey I'm just saying" she shrugs "Love you. Bye"

"Bye mom. Love you" I roll my eyes even though I know she can't see me.

I walk back inside the kitchen to my niece Zink, wiping the counters down. She's one of the people I'm closest with, we grew up together.
"Stop. You don't need to clean that. Really Zink"
"I know but, you know I can't help it"

She's right. She is OCD and finds enjoyment out of cleaning my somewhat chaotic looking kitchen.
"Well thank you, I appreciate it" I take a seat at my table across from her.

"Soo are you gonna be MIA for the next couple days or what?" She raises her eyebrow at me.
"No promises" I wink at her.  We both laugh. 

"I'm not gonna lie he was a pro tonight. I mean if he can get your dad, and the rest of the guys in this family to laugh, I think you found a keeper, you know how over protective they are, especially with you"

"Yeah I really have. Haven't I?"

"You guys are so great together. It's obvious you're happy, so you know I'm happy"

"Aw thanks Zink, I really am happy"

"Alright, well I'm gonna get out of your hair. Text me when you're free" I get up and walk her to the door.

"I will. Love you"

"Love you too Z. Bye"

"Bye"

I close the door. Everyone is officially gone. Hallelujah. That's weird for me to say just because I love a full house with people in it but I'm going to enjoy this time with Tom. I make my way upstairs. He has to be out of the shower by now. Its about 10:40 now so I know he's tired but I'm hoping to squeeze in some one on one time before he knocks out cold. I open the door to my room & don't see him passed out in my bed so that's a win already. I walk over to the bathroom and see him brushing his teeth in his boxer briefs. God, do I love this sight. Whenever we're together and spend nights together his sleepwear of choice is just his boxer briefs and I can't complain at all.

"Babe you look so tired" I walk behind him placing my chin on the back of his shoulder and wrapping my arms around his torso.
"I'm not gonna lie, I'm exhausted" you can see it in his eyes he maybe has 30 mins before he's a goner.

"But not too exhausted for you!" He turns around grabs me and picks me up and walks me to my bed. He lays me down. He puts one knee between my legs and the the other knee around my other leg, straddling me. Okay so confession time. We've never actually had sex. I know what you're thinking, we've been together for 6 months now but for like 3 of those months we didn't even see each other, and the other times it just didn't feel right. We've done other things but I'm kind of hoping sometime on this trip it'll happen.
