"Princess, you're gonna love it!" Bill exclaimed happily.

He was slightly ahead of (Y/N) due to his quick pace. She strayed behind, taking in all the scenery. The streets smelled of something pleasant and reminded her of some memory she didn't have for herself.

"I used to go here all the time." He looked over his shoulder and (Y/N)'s distracted gaze met with his own. "You know, I've been thinking and what if we lived here? Think about it, chaos, family... what more could you want?"

"Oh, I dunno," (Y/N) pretended to think it over. "Stability. And didn't you say you hated it here a few days ago?"

Bill rolled his eyes, but he was smiling. He slowed his pace to walk beside (Y/N). "Okay, sure. Maybe I did. So, we can't live here, but maybe we should visit more. Y'know, for friends."

(Y/N) didn't have coming back to the realm on her agenda any time soon, but she still nodded, eyes drifting to a busy fruit stand. "Maybe,"

Bill followed her line of sight and his face brightened. "Oh, man!" He laughed, pulling (Y/N) along.

He pushed past those waiting in line, much to their displeasure and came face to face with the vendor. His hands gripped the edge of the stand as he leaned close to the man, an excited smile on his face. "How's about you help us out, huh?"

The vendor's eyes trailed from Bill over to (Y/N) and his face reddened. He hurried to lower his head. "Y-Your Highness!"

(Y/N) couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her lips. "Oh, you don't have t—"

"Here!" He hastily pulled out a box and began to scoop little slug like creatures into a bag. "On the house!"

"Oh," (Y/N) felt her stomach churn as he held the box out to her, but she still reached out to accept. Bill snatched the box before she could touch it, much to her relief.

"Thanks, pal, I owe you one!"

Then, Bill linked arms with (Y/N) and hurried off. They weren't even a few feet away when (Y/N) spoke up.

"Don't eat that," She pleaded. "Please tell me you aren't eating that."

Bill laughed jovially. "No way, these things are gross!" (Y/N) felt a relief like no other. "What we're doing is much more fun."

(Y/N) had no idea what kind of fun they'd be having with slugs, but she decided to let him have it. He brought her close to the water's edge where dozens of demons gathered around to chat. The small stone wall between them and the water was occupied by many, but Bill managed to find them a place by the ledge.

"Wait, what is th—"

Before (Y/N) could finish her question, Bill took a handful of slugs and dropped them down into the water. He laughed happily as (Y/N) snatched the box from him, shielding the remaining slugs.

"What was that for?" She questioned.

"What~?" Bill turned to her, leaning on the wall. "They won't drown! Besides, look," He pointed into the water just as a young demoness jumped onto the wall.

"Papa, look!" She pointed below, eyes bright with wonder.

Her father stood beside her, peering below, and (Y/N) smiled at the two of them. Their happiness reminded (Y/N) of her own father and moments like those they shared.
