Chapter 30

Nash's POV:

Standing here with Jaileen makes me feel like this is some sort of dream. She makes me feel so complete and loved.

I remember when I first found of that I was falling for her.

*flashback*

I can't believe she did this to me! Jenna, my girlfriend of barely two years just cheated on me with Ryan. My supposable "best friend".

I can't believe her.  we started dating when I was 13 and now what. there's nothing.

I really loved this girl. I went to the bathroom to check on my face and it was red and puffy from all the crying. Thank god no one was home. I sat on the toilet with my head in my hands. I looked up and saw a razor.... Only way to take the pain away right?

I slid the blade across my wrist four times. The first two times I was still crying, but soon it ended.

I heard the door bell ring and I immediately got up and rinsed my wrist and face.

I went down stairs and opened the door and there's was a tiny girl who was about Hayes' age.

"Hi" she smiled at me. "hey" "uh well I'm new to the neighborhood and my mom basically forced me to come and introduce myself so hi my name's Jaileen" she said quickly, I smiled.

"Well hi, again" she smiled "I'm Nash" I reached out my hand and I regretted it.

"you cut" she whispered look at my wrists

"what's wrong?" she asked me as if she wanted to cry

I shook my head and was about to close the door, until she stopped it with her hand.

"my older sister used to cut" she said I opened the door a little.

"look I know we literally met like 30 seconds ago but i want to help you"

"come" I don't know something about his girl made me trust her.

I took her up to my room and as soon as we got to my door she said "Woah there, I have no business in doing what I think you're thinking about doing" I laughed

"its nothing like that, just come in"

"okay bucko but if you try something I'm warning you i know jujitsu" I laughed again

"you see that girl right there?" I pointed towards a picture of Jenna and I from the fall festival a couple months ago.

"Yeah what about her?"

"well, she cheated on me with my best friend" I said with air quotes around "best friend"

she ran up to me and hugged me

"I'm sorry" she whispered into my ear

We stayed in my room talking about it and just everything that came to mind. for a stranger shes really easy to talk to.

"I've never trusted anyone this much, let alone a stranger let alone a 12 year old"

"I'm 13" she said looking at me awkwardly

"Sorry you just look like you're my brothers age" I tried to laugh it off

"Its fine I turned 13 like 4 months ago"

"I turned 15 a month and a half ago"

"oh so we're about" she counted her fingers "a year and 10 months?"

"mhm"

We were interrupted by Hayes barging in.

"Oh sorry dude, but uh I'm here"

"obviously" I scoffed

"Hi, I'm Hayes" he walked over to her.

"hi, Im Jaileen" she shook his hand and smiled

"you're very cute Jaileen" she blushed and looked away

typical hayes.

"Hayes don't you have a girlfriend?"

"Jordan isn't my girlfriend"

"yet right? you always say 'Jordan isnt my girlfriend' followed by a 'yet'"

"well yeah" "then don't flirt with Jaileen"  he rolled his eyes and turned back to her

"it was nice meeting you" she smiled

"sorry my brothers stupid" "its fine" she laughed.

She asked for the time and said she had to be back home.

"See you later" she smiled

"hey wait!" "yeah" she turned

"do you really now jujitsu?"

"not even to save my life" she smirked and walked away.

I stood there smiling. "this girls something"

*end of flash back*

"hey do you remember the time you lied about knowing jujitsu?"

she looked up at me laughing

"oh my god yeah!"

we laughed for what seems like forever

"I can't believe you were willing to be my friend back then" she laughed

"why's that?" "I was ugly!" "you were cute shut up" "ew no" she laughed one last time.

"you saved me" I whispered "what?"

"you saved me" "I didn't save you, you saved yourself"

"you're modest" "its true! I was just there to help, while you did all the heavy lifting"

"whatever. you saved me and I know it"

"whatever you say Jose"

"who's Jose?! I'm Nash"

she bursted out laughing.

It was getting pretty cold and she just hung onto me like if she was falling or something

"you cold?" "no" she said chattering teething

"we've just started dating and you have already started lying to me"

"I'm not lying" she looked up and i gave her my jacket and she snuggled into it.

*8 days later*

"I don't want you to leave" I said to Jaileen while hugging her.

"babe, I promised grant I'd go over for his birthday" "I know but-" "but nothing, skylnn really misses you and so does your mom"

"I bet your mom misses you too" "really? she couldn't even care" "babe don't say that"

"its true. most of the time its like i'm not even there"

I just looked at her. "I'll be back in less than 3 days I promise"

"you'll be back by your birthday right?"

she nodded.
