I sit with Kayla the whole day until we have to part for science, I sit aimlessly staring at the wallpapered wall hoping for the bell to go so I can get out the class 'miss jones?' My teacher snaps at me making me abruptly sit up in my chair and oohs my glasses back in my nose 'sorry miss' I say quietly 'I'll speak to you after class' this saying gets a 'ooo' from the class, along with Sophie who would usually stick up for me.

I flick the pages over to get started on my Cell structure work sheet in front of me when my phone vibrates:

Hey! I'm bored :( x

'HANNAH!' I jump 'what could be more interesting down below than doing your work' She snaps at me 'she's trying to figure out her identity miss!' Shouts one of the kids, Jake Walker, 'oh fuck off jake' I remark just low enough so my teacher doesn't hear

'Hannah! Pass me that' I didn't even realise my teacher was stood lurching over my desk looking at me testing 'are these texts worthy of sharing to the class seeing as they're clearly more important than your grades' she click her fingers impatiently 'n-no miss, I'm sorry. I won't do it again' I can feel my heart beat faster and faster, I turn off my phone and place it in Mrs Guters small podgy hand as she snatched it away and puts it on her desk 5 metres away from me 'you get thus back after class Hannah' she says looking up at me through the rim of her glasses 'thank you, miss'

The bell rings 20 minutes later to signify the end of the lesson, 'Hannah, phone and talk!' Guters reminds me before I even have the chance to think about leaving the room. When the whole class has left I walk up to my teachers desk 'Hannah, is something going on we need to know about? I mean you've changed a lot not just appearance wise but also grade wise too, for a few days now your grades have been dropping a few marks every lesson. I'm worried about you, you've got such a bright-' I cut her off 'nothings to worry about miss, I've just rekindled my friendship with my old friend and became part if the bigger more popular group. It's where I'm happy' I smile at her 'I'm glad you're happy and everything but being popular here you no where without good grades!' She warns me 'it's fine miss, grades only bothered me when stuff was going on between me and that Reece kid, working got my mind off it all. Now I'm just starting to properly get over it all, grades are meaning less and less to me, I'm trying to find life long friends.' I grab my phone off her desk and go to walk away 'Sophie? What happened?' She suddenly says 'she's dating Reece, he cheated on me with a year eight when we were in year nine. She swore she would never date him or do anything to hurt me. That's the main reason I've changed to be honest'
