'Reece mate, I know you're old enough to make your own decisions and that but are you sure you want a tattoo of the nickname you've gave a girl who you don't even know?' My dad asks me 'yes dad I'm sure' I nod 'fine, but if this person you're messaging turns out to be some seventy five year old man then what are you gonna do with it?' He asks again 'well then, I'll just it covered up with a lily or something for mum, or even a little microphone or another guitar. Actually I might get a guitar one too and only tell people about that one, no one needs to know about sunshine' I smile to myself thinking about her 'alright okay, just be careful okay' my dad gives me £40 and gives me a hug.
I take a deep breath and open the door to the parlour 'Hey Danny, can I get a tat done please?' He nods his head 'what and where?' He asks 'the outline of a sunshine on my ankle, and a guitar on my wrist please' I say quietly to him 'sure, that'll be twenty five then please' he says as I get out my two twenty pound notes from my pocket and he exchanges them for the change.
Leading me into a room behind a grey door Danny indicates for me to go onto this long bed, sort of like a dentist chair, 'sit here and roll your tracksuit bottom trouser up so I can get to your ankle' Danny tells me and I do as he says.
'Have you got a pic of the sun and guitar?' I pull my phone out my jacket, unlock it and got to the camera roll getting up the two most recent pictures on there 'oh they're quite small and simple then, what the meaning?' Smiles Danny 'the sunshine is for this girl, she's not my girlfriend or anything she's just a close friend I met online and that's the nickname I have her, hers for me is a lemon' I laugh again at the thought of her 'so you're getting a tattoo for a girl you don't know' he questions me 'exactly that, but I have feelings for her so I wanted to get something of her on me without being weird' Danny laughs at me again 'and the guitar? For you and the band right?' I nod 'yeah we're getting really dedicated now. We're gonna start touring pubs and stuff' I say 'well good luck and if you ya know start doing shows that involve tickets, save me one' he jokingly mocks 'will do mate, don't ya worry' - It's been just under two hours and my tattoos are finished, they look amazing. Only my family and sunshine need to actually know about the sunshine one, but everyone can know about my guitar one.
