Elsa sat at a desk, one hand gently touching the smooth, wooden desktop, where there was a small patch of ice beneath her fingertips, the other holding a quill that was stroking her chin as she thought how to continue her story about her ice powers for the Arendelle Newspaper. Just as she scratched out the last few words of the paragraph and took in a breath to blow it dry, a castle servant knocked. She used her breath instead to answer "Come in." As the man walked in, she blew on the paper and set it down. "A messenger from the Southern Isles came today with a message." He said importantly. "He requested to see you, however, we told him you had no intention of doing so. He demanded that he had to convey a message, so he wrote it out." From out of the pocket of his suit, he took a small, rolled up piece of paper and handed it to her. She quickly scanned the paper, and read it again, slower, trying to comprehend what was going on.

Queen Elsa,

As you know, Prince Hans of the Southern Isles left your sister to die and almost killed you last week. However, today he awoke in prison screaming and demanding to find Anna to save her, and was weeping profoundly. He said he could not remember anything past when his lips almost met hers. All he asked was if she was out of harm's way. All 12 of his brothers, who taught him every way of lying known to mankind, came to speak to him, and all found he was being honest. I hope there is something you could possibly be able to do about this?

-A messenger of the Southern Isles

A white horse and it's rider, dressed in a dark blue cloak, sped off out of the town of Arendelle into the forest. The dark sky shimmered with twinkling stars and Northern lights. The rider swiftly made their way to a place surrounded by boulders on all sides. "I need help. I must find what happened to this man." A female voice called out from under the hood. The boulders advanced, spinning to a halt before the lady, and unrolled into small trolls, curious about their guest. "I must see Grand-Pabbie." She said. Another boulder came forth, the other trolls making way for it. It became a wise, old troll in the next instant. A hand reached up and pulled back the hood.

"It's the Queen!" Trolls murmured towards one another.

"I'm here on very important business." She announced. She handed the note from the messenger to Grand-Pabbie. "I must know what this is. Please." She knelt before him.

His eyes quickly moved across the paper. "I see." He said gravely. "What I can tell you is he is most certainly telling the truth." This caused a gasp to arise out of Elsa's mouth. "I'm afraid I cannot tell you the cause of Hans' behavior. Some magic or another." At this, several trolls shifted uncomfortably. Grand-Pabbie, not one to miss things, cleared his throat and looked disapprovingly at the bunch of trolls. "I believe they know."

With their eyes cast downwards, only one spoke up.

"It was us."
