"-but I may have to force you on this one."

His lips were pursed together uncomfortably.

"What do you mean, Sir?" I asked, "Can you cut to the chase?"

"The-"

"..."

"The government wants you to assassinate somebody and if you reject them..."he gulps,"It wouldn't paint a nice picture."

"Ah..."I muttered,"But it's the government, right? I'm sure they have a good rea-"

"No. They want the person dead because he has information that shouldn't be released to the public."Mr Moore interrupted,"Other than that reason of safety precautions, they don't have a good reason."

I stared at him shocked.

"I-I don't do these kind of missions though, can't you ask another assassin?" I stammered. He shook his head.

"The government wants you to do it."he replied, his voice coated with regret,"I tried to bargain with them for another assassin. They said 'no'."

I shut my eyes as my head ached, thoughts were circulating and they were being feuled by my conscience.

I sighed,"What are the requirements?"

I stopped for a moment.

"If there are any, that is."

Mr Moore pulled out a suitcase and flicked it opened. He pulled out a circular shaped object that was no bigger than his palm.

"They want him killed for sure so they are requesting you stick this bomb onto him."

I gagged, my eyes widened in disgust.

"Are you sure the client is the government?"

He nodded, "Unfortunately, yes."

The image of what would happen played in my mind. The blood and explosive splattering all over that I had imagined were enough to make me gag once more.

"Naomi, are you sure you can do it?" Mr Moore asked with concern tainted on his voice.

I composed myself and nodded, "Yeah, I'm good."

I looked at him with a pained expression, "I demand a five month break though."

He agrees without asking any questions, "I get it, I'll allow it."

He puts the explosive back into the case and pushes it to me. He turns and pulled out some documents from a file and pushes them to me too. I look at him confused.

"The target's name and face is there. The government had done some research for you too. All you have to do it read it."Mr Moore instructed.

"Yes Sir!" I said and took the newly received items. I walked out the door and grumbled to myself.

This is even worse than getting fired.

By the time I had exited the office, it was already time to go. I packed my belongings and headed home.

I stood outside my apartment's door.

Please tell me my day can't get any worser. If Edward fucked up my house, I am going to be so done with life.

I slowly pushed open the door and hoped for the best as I shut my eyes.

I peeked with one of my eyes and heaved a sigh of relieve.

"Thank god."

"Oh hey, you're back."Edward said, poking his head out from the kitchen.

Suddenly, the smell of food drifted over to my nose. I sniffed and managed to grin through my disturbing day.

"You cooked dinner? Hooray!" I cheered. I took off my shoes and dropped my bag, all in a swift motion before running to the dinner table like a kid. A carefree kid, who had nothing to worry about when in reality, I had lots of things to worry about.

I took a look at the food on the table. It was bolognese pasta. The sauce was red. Blood was red. The image of the imagined scenario came back to me and I gagged. Soon, gagging turned to vomiting. I rushed to the toilet and puked it all out.

"Fuck..."

I heard fast pit-patting sound on the wooden floor following me.

"Woah, are my cooking skills that bad to the point the look of it disgusts you? The last I remembered it tasted and looked awesome, you know?" Edward asked sarcastically, leaning on the frame of the bathroom door. I could hear from his voice that he seemed a little hurt.

"N-no. It's just...I had a rough day, okay?"I muttered as I plopped myself onto the floor like rejected clothing.

I pushed myself up.

"I'll skip dinner for today. I'll eat next time okay?" I reassured him, patting his shoulders, "Put it in the fridge. I promise I'll eat it when I return."

I apologised before I picked up my bag and went into my room.

I reached into my bag and took out the documents.

I opened its cover and looked at it.

I bit my lips.

Damn, they want it done by tomorrow? And the guy's so young too! He got so much to live for...

My conscience started to knock on my heart's front door.

I put down my documents and ran to the toilet. I splashed water onto my face and looked up at my reflection.

Naomi, you're an assassin. You know what you signed up for.

I inhaled and exhaled as I blinked. I opened my eyes only to see a pair of emotionless eyes staring back me.

Dammit, this is why I didn't want to do this kind of missions anymore. I already kept it behind for so long...until now.

I shook my head furiously and slapped myself.

"Not now..."I muttered,"Not yet."

...

Throughout the day, I just trained. I trained and trained and didn't stop for anything despite the small attempts made by Edward to get me out my room.

Soon, time slipped away and it was the 25 July. The day I have to assassinate SaeJin.
