warnings: language, perv!Jax, Jax being a cocky shit, Lena feeling insecure, mentions of pregnancy
Lena and Jax cuddled together on Lena's old, ratty couch basking in the afterglow of their love making. Lena's head was laid gently across Jax's bicep, as he delicately dragged his fingers up and down her arms. This was the part Lena loved the most. Not that sex with Jax wasn't out of this world, but it was the little moments of just enjoying each other's presence in a comfortable silence that made her heart so full.
But then there was that secret she was carrying nagging repeatedly at the back of her mind. Lena thought that maybe it was the time for Jax to know of his second child that would be coming into this world.
"Jax," Lena whispered softly, kissing his arm, "remember earlier today when I said that we needed to talk, but then I told you it really wasn't important?"
"Yeah." Jax hummed, leaning forward to place a gentle kiss to her bare shoulder. There were times that he could almost picture her getting his crow tattooed in that very spot. "What's up?"
After a few more seconds of silence, Lena released a sigh and turned around in his arms to face him. Looking up into his perfect blue eyes, the fear of telling him her secret sat bubbling in her stomach.
"What's wrong?" Concern in those steely blues, Jax cupped her face in his hand, using his thumb to gently stroke her cheekbone.
Lena drew in a deep breath, melting into his touch, trying to flush away the fear. "So, before I tell you, I need you to know that this wasn't done on purpose. I'm not using it to trap you or anything."
Jax's brows furrowed in confusion. "What's going on, Lee?"
Lena swallowed the lump in the back of her throat, leaning forward to kiss his chest. She then decided it was best to just rip the Band-Aid. "I'm pregnant."
As the words fell from her mouth, Lena felt Jax immediately pull back. She tried desperately to read his eyes but couldn't tell what he was thinking. She just knew the sting of rejection was now coming.
"Jax," she began, as he still hadn't spoken, "I know that this is not the best time for any of this. Especially with Abel and the club and Wendy. I promise—"
Jax cut her off, pressing his lips to hers. Lena was surprised by the kiss, but just melted into it. When he pulled back, he placed his forehead against hers, and whispered softly, "you're really having my kid?"
Lena waited a beat before nodding, her forehead still connected with his. Jax was really okay with this? He smiled and kissed her again. "You're not pissed?" She reached up to push some of his blonde hair behind his ears.
Jax shook his head and kissed her nose. "I have no reason to be, Lee. I mean we haven't exactly been careful these last few months. But that does explain your reaction to the joke I made about giving Abel a little brother. Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
