English, math, and free period are my morning classes. Then I have clay creations, which I've had every year. Blakely is in the same class so we talked while we were learning to use the clay wheel, which we both knew how to use. So we didn't bother paying attention to the instructions.
At one point, our hands touched and my skin buzzed all over. Then he asked in a whisper "Are you a vampire, like me?"
"Yes." I whispered back. He smiled at me and my soul turned to jelly. Then the bell rang for lunch. "Don't forget that I have a seat for you I tell him."
"I remember," he says. He squeezes my hand before heading to lunch.
"Well someone's in a good mood" Ashleigh's boyfriend Derek says when I walk up to our table.
"Dashia has a boy she likes"
"Oo! So exciting! But don't you have Dustin?" I playfully punch Derek in the arm.
"He's not just any cute boy guys. He's my-cough cough- Chosen Vampire."
"What!?" they say simultaneously.
"But that doesn't happen until you're - oh I forgot. You are eighteen." Ashlieh says. Dustin is my boyfriend of four years. Vampires aren't against dating or anything. They just say that if the person your dating is not your Chosen Vampire, then you must break up with them as soon as possible.
"Hey." Blakely says, walking up, the same time Dustin sits down.
"Everyone, this is Blakely, the guy that I ran into this morning"
"Hi Blakely" they all replied, all of them giving him a friendly smile.
"Dustin, can I talk to you alone please?" I ask.
"Sure Dashia." he says smiling. Then looking concerned when he sees my face.
We step out into the hall where it's quiet. "Is everything okay Dash?"
"No it's not Dustin. There's something I need to tell you. Blakely is not just any vampire. He's my Chosen, Dustin."
"Oh. Wow. And he knows your his as well?"
"Absolutely."
"Well he's getting a girl he's lucky to have. I won't regret giving you up and handing you over." he says with a smile on his face. We go back into the lunchroom.
"Well Blakely, you're getting a girl you will be lucky to have." Dustin says, slapping Blakely on the back. Blakely winces a bit.
"Thanks man but could you not do that please, it pains me." Blakely winces again.
"Oh sorry. Didn't know"
And then the bell rang for the end of lunch.
