It's been a month since the last time Mrs. Langford asked us to pass our first project and honestly, I've been wanting to do more ever since that simple paper pad project. Last week, she told us that for our next project, we wouldn't be using usual paper pad anymore for our drawings. Instead, we're gonna use an individual pad for drawing and painting, much like a canvas but it's not cloth, but still a paper a thick paper. Mrs. Langford said that she will tell us today about what will happen to those projects if they get accepted for the arts club bulletin boards this semester.

I can't say I'm not excited because I've been drawing lately to keep my mind straight and I'm having fun doing so. I guess that's just me heading back to the right path again, where my love for drawing and painting is coursing through my veins again.

"I'll see the two of you later at home room." Bea said as soon as we arrived Mrs. Langford's classroom.

I smiled at her as Jules and I walked into arts class.

"What do you think Mrs. Langford's announcement? I hope to God that it isn't about partnership because I suck at that." Jules said with a small groan. "I'm telling you, I won't last long with a partner. I'll die."

"Oh, she does partnerships?" I asked while taking my things out.

She nodded. "Yeah. Sometimes she chooses your partner to be with you for the rest of the year, which is..." She made a face and sighed afterwards. "I can't deal with that." She said.

"I won't either." I said. Having a partner in general makes me nauseous, let one having one for the rest of the year. That'll be the death of me.

"But the thing about Mrs. Langford, she doesn't pick students from this class." Jules explained as Mrs. Langford fixes her things on her desk. "She picks three or four from other classes, so it won't be bias, according to her." She said.

I furrowed my eyebrows with a small grimace. "It doesn't make sense." I said.

Jules laughed. "I know, right. But some say it's an amazing technique but I personally find it degrading to our freedom." She said, shaking her head.

I guess she really does hate having a partner.

"Good morning." Mrs. Langford cheerily greeted the class and some students greeted her back. "We're jumping onto a different lesson today." She said and opened her laptop and connected it on the projector.

The thing about Mrs. Langford, she draws and paints something first before telling us what our lesson will be about. Right now, she's showing us a portrait of a person's figure facing the window. It was pretty amazing and symbolic. I liked these kinds of paintings. It helps me bring out something mysterious, I guess. It's amazing, these paintings. I love them. I started liking art because of a portrait I saw few years back. It was a simple painting but you can see grief, happiness and anger all at the same in one painting.

I listened carefully at Mrs. Langford as she discussed this interesting topic. She described things that I never knew before and things that I didn't know were possible. That's when I realised that she was a really good teacher and artist. She knows what to do if you've experienced a small play up on your artwork, which can't be identified by all teachers but Mrs. Langford can and it amazed me so much.

"Now that I finally discussed this topic to all of you, let me tell you your new project." She said and rubbed her hands together.

Jules groaned next to me. "Here we go." She said, making me smile a little at her weird but understandable reaction.
