We were outside a really huge house, larger than Amelia's house. I've never seen this much people before and just for a party. It's honestly flabbergasting.

I silently unbuckled my seatbelt and was about to get out when Harry's voice stopped me midway, causing me to look at him.

"Just stay behind me and don't go anywhere. Don't talk to jerks." He said before stepping out of his car, so I did the same thing.

I don't know how I'm going to be able to know the difference between a jerk and a nice one since I barely know the name of the town that we're in but sure.

"Okay." I mumbled and he suddenly stopped walking, causing me to slam against his back. "I'm sorry," I immediately said and looked up at him when he turned around.

"If anyone asks who you are, tell them you're a family friend." He said, his eyes holding mine for a few seconds before looking around the place.

"Why can't I just tell them I'm adopted?" I asked curiously. It was bitter as soon as the words came out of my mouth. I've never said it out loud before.

He looked at my eyes again, more intently this time. "Because teenagers nowadays are not as nice as you think." He said.

I nodded slowly. "Okay." I said and he stared at me for a short while before nodding as well.

"Right. Let's go." He said and entered the house first and surprisingly held open the door for me.

I walked behind him quite hesitantly and stared at him as he greeted some guys, who looked like his friends. I awkwardly played with the hem of my shirt as they shared a brief conversation.

"Who's this?" A guy with brown hair and hazel eyes asked as soon as he turned his attention away from Harry.

Harry deliberately turned away from the rest of his friends to look at me. "This is a family friend, Mia." He said and looked at the brunette guy again. "She just moved to London few weeks ago and she's also gonna attend the same school as us." He explained.

"Hi." I said with a small tight smile and a wave.

"Hello, love. I'm Liam and those two are Nigel and Matt." He said and reached his hand out for me to shake.

I shyly shook it, as well as the other two guys politely. "Nice to meet you." I said.

"I didn't know you had a family friend named Mia, Harry." The guy, Matt, said and nodded at me afterwards.

He shrugged. "Well, now you do." He said and started walking off. "Have any drinks?" He asked as he did so.

Drinks? Does he plan on getting drunk tonight? Because I wasn't. I didn't drink. I never have in my entire life. Besides, aren't we underaged for something like this?

"Yup." Liam responded and looked down at me. "Would you like some, Mia?" He asked.

I shook my head. "No, thank you, I'm fine." I said and followed them in the kitchen.

"Really? Not even one?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, no. I don't really drink." I said and a girl with raven hair suddenly showed up.

"Hey, Li. Who's this?" She asked, looking at me with a nice smile actually on her face.

"This is Mia. Harry's family friend, I guess." Nigel said as he prepared himself a drink on a large red cup.

"Mia. Nice name. I'm Jules." She said with a large smirk on her face and a really cheery tone.

"Nice to meet you." I said.
