Drew and Scott left the party early, so I went home. I texted Drew to make sure he was okay, but he isn't talking much. He's devastated. His grandfather meant the world to him, and he would visit his grandpa and grandma Bert every other weekend religiously.

When the weekend roll around Drew begs me to come to spend the weekend with him. And I can't say no. Thankfully, Grams agrees to let me go, but little did I know I'd be going back to wine country.

I pull up to find Drew's entire family there, lending their support and comfort to his Gigi. She's thinner and looks older than I remember. But I'm sure losing someone you've loved for as long as his grandparents were in love would do that to you.

After saying hi to his parents and meeting all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins, Drew takes me out back where the teenagers are hanging out. Good looks run in Drew's family. All of his male cousins are heartthrobs, although none of them hold a candle to Drew in my eyes.

"You know how to pick 'em," Drew's cousin Phillip pounds his fist while eyeing me like a slab of ribs.

That God complex runs deep in Taylor men.

"Sidney," I greet him, holding my hand out for him to shake.

He kisses the back of my hand and Drew shoves him in the pool. "Ignore PJ, he was dropped on his head as a baby," Drew chuckles.

"How are you holding up?"

"I'm better now that you're here," he pulls me in for a tight hug.

His eyes have always been one of my favorite features of his, and right now I feel as if they're holding me captive. Drew pressed his lips against mine, sweeping his tongue through my mouth, and awakening a need inside of me. He takes my breath away.

"Thank you for being here for me," he rests his forehead against mine.

"I know I've only met your grandpa a hand full of times, but I know how much he meant to you. I know how close you were to him."

He nods and squeezes me tighter. As the day wears on, he hardly lets me out of his sight. He keeps me tucked into his arms unless I need to use the bathroom or something. And if I thought one Taylor ego was bad, try being surrounded by several. All they do is talk about sports and proudly boast about their triumphs with the female species.

It's a male chauvinistic ego-fest...

At least I'm getting a glimpse into how the male species thinks and talks about us when we're not around. But I've had enough of the ego-stroking.

When his cousins are gone by nightfall, I thank God. I can't listen to them anymore. Scott, Drew, and his parents are staying with his Gigi though. We stay at Gigi's all weekend before heading back to Sac. But Drew's mom stays behind to help her with the funeral arrangements.

The following weekend I attend the funeral with Drew. It's the first time he's ever willingly let me see him cry. It makes me feel closer to him than ever that he would share this moment with me.

After the funeral, his family has dinner at Gigi's place. We attend the dinner but don't stay long. Drew has other plans and got permission from his dad to have a party at his father's loft.

Every member of the boys' basketball team and their girlfriends are invited. Patrice shows up with Scott and Quincy shows up with Chloe. Thankfully, none of Drew's exes make an appearance.
