SECRET TAIL

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

            I looked into their eyes and from their expression I could tell that they meant me no harm. A big smile spread across my face and the feeling of being alone reduced and I was not so scared anymore. "We better leave them alone so they can talk." Jessica said while she and the girls dragged the other boys away.

        I dried the water from my skin with a towel and tried to keep myself busy in order to hide my nervousness. I felt his presence before me and his hand lifted my head up so I could look into his eyes. He smiled and said, "Hey." I could feel the tingles running through my skin from where his skin touched mine. "Hello." I replied.

       "You don't have to be so nervous, I will not do anything you are not ready for. How about we sit down and get to know each other." "Okay." I replied still trying to hide my nervousness although his words calmed me down a little bit. We sat down on the couch and he held my hand in his.

     He placed his right hand on his chest and said with a fake British accent along with a over exaggerated expression, "My name is Jason Durante and am 21 years old. Delighted to make your acquaintance." He topped it off with a cheesy bow and grin. I giggled from the expression on his face and his actions, I could tell he was trying to drive away my nervousness and awkwardness. "I am Chloe Blake and am 16 years old. Pleased to make your acquaintance." I said with the same fake accent and we both laughed.

       "You see, you can relax with me, I won't eat you. I don't mind taking things slow, you can set the pace and we will go from there. Okay?" He said while looking deep into my eyes. I nodded and placed my hands on his.

       "How about I take you home now, I will take you to school tomorrow. Is that cool with you." I smiled in acceptance and he took me home. At home I laid down on my bed but could barely sleep because of the thoughts running through my mind. I could hardly remember what happened on the ride back home, it was like I was floating on a cloud of happiness and I can't help feeling like this was all meant to be. Like I found a piece of me that I had no idea was missing and it's just crazy, stuff like this is not supposed to be possible, I feel anxious because a part of me was telling me that it was not real and that it was all a dream. I have been laying on my bed for a while now but sleep just kept eluding me, I gave up all hope of falling asleep, I switched on my laptop and started doing research on werewolves and mates.

           I finally fell asleep around 3pm, I could barely keep my eyes open. The next morning, I went down for breakfast to find my mum in the kitchen cooking, "Good morning mum.' "Morning sweetie, how was your night." She asked me. "Fine, how was yours."

        "It was okay. I am on afternoon duty at the hospital today so when you are back from school I may not be home, there is food in the fridge for you to heat up and eat. Your dad will be back by seven, don't do anything or go anywhere dangerous and be home by latest six " I just kept nodding my head as she talked and I could practically recite what she was saying but I still smiled and answered, "Yes mum"

           She placed a plate of bacon and eggs before me and I ate as fast as I could so I wouldn't be late. While keeping the plate, I heard a car horn and looked outside my window and saw Jason waiting for me. I quickly grabbed my bag and was about to rush out when my mum stopped me, "Who is that honey." 'His name is Jason and he is a friend of mine.'

       "He looks older than sixteen, where did you meet him." She asked. "He is the older brother of my friend Jessica, mum can I go now, I am going to be late for school." 'Sure honey, but you have to introduce him to me soon, I like getting to know your friends.' 'I will, good day mum.' I shouted as I rushed out of the house.

       "Hey stranger, how was your night." He smiled and asked me as soon as he saw me. 'Fine, how was yours.' "Splendid, what took you so long to get outside."

           "My mum stopped me by the door to question me about you." I replied. He was about to start driving but stopped when he heard me, "Do you think your parents will have a problem with my age." 'How old are you exactly.' "I will be twenty one by November, so what do you think their reaction will be."

       "I think my dad will get a shotgun to chase you away while he will send me off to boarding school never to return." When I saw the grave look on his face I could no longer maintain a serious look and started laughing. "I'm just kidding, you should have seen your face. Calm down, they will disapprove at first but I am sure they will accept it later." He smiled at me and said, "Laugh at my expense but this is a very serious topic you know and I just want to find out if I should kidnap you to keep you with me." I laughed harder when I heard him say that. He took my hand and suddenly I felt sparks running up my skin from where his skin made contact with mine.

         My laughter died down immediately, "I know we just met each other and I would like us to get to know each other better, can I take you out after school so we can spend time together. Have lunch with me." Joy filled my heart as soon as I heard that, "I would like that very much." As soon as I replied, I knew I had taken a step forward and I was so eager to know where it will lead me. I may not be sure of a lot of things this period but something inside of me is telling me with all conviction that he is my future.
