CHAPTER FOURTEEN

   Throughout the day I could not concentrate on anything, my mind was totally occupied with thoughts of him, I was so nervous and tried my best to put it out of my mind but I just couldn't do it. This is not me, I never go boy crazy, in fact I had never had a crush on any guy that I could remember. No matter how hot they are or how other girls fawned over them I just could not see the attraction or charm they had but this is different. I could tell that I was attracted to him by the way my heart goes crazy when I think of him and how my brain freezes when he looks into my eyes. I don't know if soulmates existed but if it does I guess this would be what it feels like.

During lunch time I could barely pay attention to Katie and Jane and I knew they were getting impatient and curious about what was on my mind. As soon as the last bell rang I packed my things and ran outside. The minute I saw him standing there with his legs crossed leaning on his car while operating his phone, my heart skipped a beat and I just stood there staring at him.

         Our gaze met when he raised his head like he felt my presence and he smiled at me in greeting. I just watched him enthralled as he walked up to me. I did not notice that the students in the parking lot were staring at me, everything in my surroundings faded away and all I saw was him. "Hey." He said when he got to me. "Hey to you too."

         He took my bag from me and led me towards the car, before I got there I heard someone screaming my name. Looking back I saw Katie running towards me. "Katie, what's up, why are you running and shouting my name." I asked her when she got to me.

        "I wanted to catch you before you left. Hey there I am Katie one of Chloe's best friends." She stretched out her hand to Jason. I wanted to face palm myself when I saw her actions, Jason just smiled and shook her hand saying, "I am Jason, nice to meet you."

      "I saw you drop off my friend this morning and wanted to meet you." "That was thoughtful of you, if you don't mind I want to steal your friend for a while."

   "Go ahead, Chloe, I will call you later." From her look I know she was expecting to hear full details of my time with Jason tonight. I blushed as he opened the car for me to enter and he drove off.

    "Where do you want us to go, what do you feel like eating." He asked me while driving. "Anything will be fine with me."

         "What about MacDonald's, is that okay with you." "Yes, that's fine." We drove there in silence, I did not know what to say to him and I could not keep myself from stealing glances at him from time to time.

         We ordered ham burgers and fries when we got there. Moving with him was a whole new experience for me, I could see the ladies stealing glances at him and trying to attract his attention. I started getting nervous, what if it does not work out after all he is way older than me, what if he preferred mature ladies like the cashier, what am I going to do then. I know we are supposed to be mates but this was a whole new concept for me, are soul mates really a thing, like I have not seen any proof it existed and here I am believing what I am told like a kid.

      I did not notice that I was scraping the table top in my nervousness and what I was thinking about was written all over my face. It surprised me when a large palm covered mine and I could feel the tingles running up my skin.

"Hey, calm down, take it easy. I don't want you to have a panic attack, whatever you are worried about can be solved if you just tell me."

       I looked into his eyes and saw the sincerity there, I could feel my eyes watering; "What if you don't like me when you get to know me, after all I am way younger than you, there must surely be a lot of gorgeous and classy ladies vying for your attention and I am just me. I can't help feeling like I am not enough."

           "'Chloe you are my mate, my soul mate. That means there is nobody better suited for me than you, you own the other part of my soul and together we become whole. Why would I want anyone else, I can wait for you to be ready, I have waited all my life to find you and I will not do anything to drive you away.

      We will move at your pace and will not do anything you don't want to, Okay? I just want you to feel comfortable with me and be happy with me. Can you do that?"

     "I can do that." We smiled at each other while holding hands.

  "Let's play twenty questions so we can know each other better, is that cool with you?" He asked me.

"Yeah, that's okay. You go first." I replied.

"What is your favorite food." he asked me,

      "Spaghetti and meatballs, what's yours?"

"I love fried rice and chicken. It's your turn."

"Who is your favorite musician?"

       "I like the Beatles, chain smokers, Migos. You?"

"I love Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande."

        "Those guys are also good." he replied while using his finger to clean the stain at the side of my lip and looking at me. I could not help blushing and I used my hair to cover my face but he lifted my face and said, "Don't hide your face from me, I love seeing your beautiful face." My blush deepened after hearing what he said.

       The waitress walked to us at that time saying, "Is there anything else I can help you with?" While she threw flirtatious glances at Jason. "We are okay if we need anything else we will call you." He replied.

         When she left I said to him, "She likes you, I can tell." "Well I have eyes only for you my dear. Would it be too fast of me if I asked you to be my girlfriend."

     "No it won't and I would like that very much." I smiled at him and he smiled back.
