"Hey! Lazy bones! Get up!" My sister yelled from downstairs.
"I'll be down in a minute! Jesus woman!" I yelled back.
"Don't have that attitude with me lady! Not my fault you stayed up late watching cartoons!" Anger laced my sister's voice.
"Well I might as well get up now," I muttered. I pulled my covers off and lazily got out of bed. Just as I was going to take a step, my foot tangled with my blanket making me land on my face. I groaned and rubbed my head.
After my incident, I walked to my closet and pull out a nice navy blue colored shirt with a pair of ripped jeans. When I entered the bathroom to put my clothes I glanced at my reflection in the mirror. I use to love all light colors but looking at me now.. I looked like the polar opposite.
I sighed and put my beanie on, skipping down the stairs. The smell of bacon and toast filled my nose as I entered the kitchen.
"Nice to see the dead finally rise," my sister joked while patting my head.
"Woah! Watch the beanie lady," I replied. She shook her head and chuckled while placing my breakfast on the table.
"Hey, I've got to work late tonight so you have to feed yourself. Think you can do that?"
"Yeah I can do that," I said stuffing my face with bacon. She laughed, gave me a kiss on the forehead, and left for work.
I couldn't really finish my breakfast so I grabbed my book bag and left for school. The bus stop wasn't that far of a walk so my sister decided I would walk to the bus stop and she would take the car to work. The only thing I could care less about was the volume of the bus. Not long after a I arrived at the stop, the bus came to a stop and I slowly walked up the steps entering the vehicle.
"Mac! Come here!" I looked up to see my friend, Beth, yelling across the bus and waving her arms in the air. I sighed a little and walked towards the back to meet my best friend.
"Well good morning Sunshine!" She had such a big smile on her face that it was so hard not to smile back.
"Well at least you're cheerful this morning. I rolled out of bed again."
"You poor baby you. Well I was wondering if I could come over today. Is that fine?"
"Yeah that's fine. My sister is going to be late coming home." The whole rest if the ride consisted of her talking about boys at school, in her youth group, and random ones she saw at the mall. Of course I just listened and nodded my head in agreement every once in a while. As he conversation started to end, we were getting closer and closer to school.
"Well, I'll talk to you in third period. Bye!" Beth said, jumping out of the bus. And there I was alone waiting for my next class. I let out another sigh before entering class.
Most of the day just slipped by and at third period, Beth and I talked through the whole class. Lunch was loud as always but it was sorta easy to get use to it. When the last bell finally rang, we all ran out of the prison called high school.
"Hey Mac?" Beth looked down at her phone. She seemed to be replying to a text.
"Yeah? What's up?" She looked up and put her phone in her back pocket.
"Alex has a soccer game and my mom wants me to go. I'm sorry I can't come over today." She gave me an apologetic look.
"It's all good. Tell your mom I say hi and Alex, tell him I just love him!" She laughed and agreed. Her brother was about nine so I loved to tease him a lot. It was funny to see his face turn different shades of red. And just like any other normal day, Beth ran to the bus and left.
I adjusted my backpack and started my adventurous walk to my house. Out of nowhere slight breeze went up my spine causing me to shiver. I felt the sudden urge to turn around and see if someone was following me. I slowly turned around but found nothing. Just autumn leaves fluttering across the street.
When I approached my front porch, I unlocked the door and ran upstairs; throwing my backpack on my bed. I wasn't ready to start homework. I needed some free time to myself for relaxation.
I sat down at my computer and opened my Paint Tool SAI. I felt like drawing. I had a perfect picture in mind. It was the moon with a Sakura tree branch in front of it. I had almost finished the outline until I heard a bang from down stairs. I froze, not moving. I looked at the clock.
2:36 pm.
My sister wouldn't be home till a lot later. I grabbed my pocket knife from my nightstand and slowly opened the door. I looked down the staircase. Nothing.
I continued down the stairs into the living room. No one.
"What the fu-" I was cut off by large hands wrapping around my waist and my mouth. My eyes widened in fear and failed at an attempt to get away.
"Dude, chill out." It was a man's voice and it was familiar. Tyler? The hands let go and I spun around to see my friend standing in front of me.
"Tyler! You asshat! You scared me!" I punched him in the arm and he flinched playfully.
"Mac you hurt my feelings!" he pouted and stuck his lower lip out.
"Stick that lip out a little longer and a little birdy will find it's way onto it and poop on it." I said poking his forehead.
"Yes mother!" He said in a mocking tone.
"How did you even get in here?" He stared at me for a while and then answered.
"You left your front door unlocked. Dumb bunny." He flicked my forehead making my head move backwards.
"Well you have to go. Now. Remember Dezy doesn't like you. And she'll be mad if I let you in without her knowing."
"Party pooper!" He folded his arms and pouted again. I gave him puppy dog eyes which seemed to work.
"Fine." He sighed. "I wouldn't want my precious Mac in trouble!"
"Just go you dork!" With that, he left.
