OMNISCIENT.
"Why did it even have to rain at this hour?" Yeoreum asked herself, undoing her soaked umbrella and shaking it a little bit next to their doorstep. She glanced at her brown pocketwatch that she slides in between the pages of the book she's currently reading. It was her bookmark of some sort, a little fragment of her dad's life he had left behind.
She'd always have it with her, and anywhere Yeoreum would go, she had a book with her and she would just read, finishing books so fast, she had to go buy new releases almost every single day.
Yeoreum knocked a few times before leaning into the doorframe, "Mom! Mom, it's me." She shouted, hoping her mother would hear her from the other side. A few moments past, she then heard a click, signifying that the door was unlocked.
"Hey mom, how is Yeonsoo?" She asked about her baby brother first, for the poor kid was almost bedridden with a cold. "He's coping well, I gave him medicine an hour ago. How was school and work?" The both of them made their way to the living room, Yeoreum dumping her things on the sofa and rapidly undoing her shoelaces.
"Just the usual. One's a torture facility and the other one's a slightly less cruel torture facility." She sarcastically said, placing her shoes on the shoe rack. Her mom, Lee Yeonhee, chuckled at her daughter's humor.
"School will be over before you know it. And besides, you only have 2 years left. As for work... well I can't advise anything on that since I don't work outside the house, but I'm sure you'll get through it honey." Yeoreum almost laughed at her mom's nonchalant comment. "Thanks mom, super helpful." She added.
They weren't the richest, nor were they struggling financially, but Yeoreum wanted to give her family more than what they deserved, and so she grinded through her studies and work to get some profit off of it.
"There's jjigae in the fridge if you want to heat it up. I'll be in my room if you need anything. And if I don't wake up by 5 am, you should let Yeonsoo take his meds by then." Yeonhee reminded, her steps careful up the plight of stairs. Yeoreum nodded slightly, making her way to the kitchen.
Yeoreum did her night routine of taking a shower first, then heating up whatever leftovers there were in the fridge. She snuck up into her room, making sure she wasn't disturbing her baby brother's slumber next door.
"Peace at last." She sighed deeply, making her knuckles sound as she stretched her arms in front of her desk. She placed her bag on her bed, taking her beloved journal, her phone, and her 'currently reading' book to her desk where her laptop, and all her other things were. She tied her hair into a high ponytail and pulled out a pen from her drawer.
"Okay, let's see..." Yeoreum squinted, clicking on the Naver site on her laptop and automatically, different topics and articles were displayed. She turned her brightness level down a little bit and adjusted her glasses up her nosebridge.
The number one trending topic was 'X1 Debut' which garnered over a million searches. She clicked on the title and let her fingers do the work. She wrote every single detail about them in her journal, researching things from which entertainment company they were from, their trainee period, the ships that are in the group, what type of food they liked, etc.
Anything about X1? You name it, Yeoreum probably knows about it. She clicked on every single headline there was about them online and ransacked the internet to binge-watch every single X1 related video. And soon enough, she found herself actually having fun while writing her formulated plot for her new fanfiction, on a small yellow post-it.
"How about we go for something personal? Then, I'd be able to write alot more since I'm actually inspired to write this story instead of spewing out sappy clichès and predetermined scenes you see in every....." Her rambling went on and on for an hour or so, until she stopped to check on her progress. It was getting really late, or rather early in the morning, but she didn't care nonetheless, since she brewed up her favorite caffeinated concoction every time she felt stumped.
"So she's going to meet Seungyeon at a music studio she's auditioning for, but later on he finds out that she might be the perfect member for their new band! Oh my god, this is genius!" Yeoreum exclaimed in excitement, her hair partly disheveled from banging her head on the desk too much earlier.
"I'm just going to turn in this storyline tomorrow and finally get my big break in that stinking company!" She mocked, throwing a fist against the air to motivate herself.
The girl's phone rang abruptly, a blue light blaring along with the tune of one of those default ringtones that were set on her phone. It was a message from Seolha,
