⭐️Chapter 61: Fallen

"Fallen...angel..."

The squidbeak stared at him. First the hidden power and now this?!

"Our little Ebony here has a bit of a...special ability. He can find a power and mimic it, and it seems he has picked skyling power."

The squidbeak gasped. So he HAD wings all this time?! SO HE HAD LIED WHEN HE SAID HE COULDN'T FLY? But WHY?!

"Oh bother, those idiots were EASY to defeat, don't know why he'd want to take their power, but...a choice is a choice..."

So...when had Skylings come to Black Forest? Or did the Shadowlings find them before, in some part of the forest?

"Now, why don't you show them the rest of the power you've been holding back on us all this time?" Noir sneered.

Oh, so there was MORE? Even worse, Ebony was mad now. The squidbeak didn't know what Prince had done, but...it couldn't have been good. Then again, it was odd that he was even mad. It wasn't like Prince to be cruel. Something must have happened.

Ebony flew at everyone, swords now on fire again. Everyone ducked, but Ebony came back at them from the sides and hit them all, HARD. They were all knocked down to the ground. They desperately tried to spread out, so that Ebony would have a wider distance to travel amongst each of them, but Ebony kept knocking them down every time they got up. Prince was sneaking away in his squid form, having not been spotted yet because of his size. The squidbeak began shooting and attacking him as he flew by.

This caused him to slow down, and it gave the squidbeak a chance to recover. They split up again, and each of their shadowlings followed them. Noir then spotted Prince inching away. He ran over and picked him up, keeping a firm grip on him and making sure he couldn't turn back.

"Ebony! You missed one!" he laughed, holding Prince up like a target.

Ebony turned to the one who had made him angry and rushed at him, swords ready. The gems on his swords glowed as he picked up speed. Noir's smile grew wider by the second. Finally, revenge on that ex-king for being such a nuisance. Prince closed his eyes and braced for the worst...

But it never came.

Prince heard a metallic sound and looked up.

Emperor stood between the two, his sword against Ebony's.

"HOW DARE YOU INTERFERE?" Noir shouted.

He held onto Prince with one hand and summoned a shadow vine with another. He wrapped it around Emperor's leg and tugged him down as Ebony flew away to attack the other squidbeak. Prince knew he had to do something soon to help Emperor and stop Ebony. He began struggling out of Noir's grip. Noir, unable to maintain two things at once, lost his grip and Prince leapt out, reassuming human form. He dashed off to the place he and Ebony were before.

"Ebony! I'M OVER HERE!" he yelled.

Ebony, hearing that Prince was still alive, turned away from attacking the squidbeak (who had suffered various slashes and kicks) and flew towards Prince at lightning speed. He quickly gave him the same beating he did the squidbeak. Prince wasn't prepared, and failed to parry anything. The squidbeak had suffered various injuries that slowed them, sure, but in the frenzy, Ebony had attacked the shadowlings as well some. To a lesser extent of course, but still. That plus the damage the squidbeak had already done equaled an even amount of damage to both sides.
