I walked into school with a hop to my step.
My great mood was destroyed by the sight of Marisa and Josh making out...by my locker.
Seriously?
I cleared my throat loudly.
They didn't miss a single beat.
I sighed and slamed my hand on the locker.
They jumped apart from each other and I smirked eviley.
Marisa glared at me, "Today is his birthday,"
As if that explained everything.
I rolled my eyes at her, "Well that's great for him then,"
I moved past her and opened my locker.
"Hey Chris,"
I turned quickly around, dropping my books on the ground.
It was Derek of course.
Looking as dashing as ever.
He grinned broadley at me and wrapped me in a light sweeping hug, then topping it off with a breathtakingly beautiful kiss.
"What class do you have now?"
"French," I answered.
Derek scrunched up his nose and I couldn't help but smile.
"I have accounts,"
It was my turn to scrunch up my nose.
He chuckled easily and the bell rang, disturbing the perfect moment.
"I'll see you at lunch," Derek said.
He bent down and picked up my long forgotten books from the floor.
"Thanks, see you soon," I said, as he handed me my books.
He winked at me and sped off.
I smiled to myself and hurried to my class.
The day was almost too good.
I walked into the cafeteria to find Derek frowning at his food while standing in the cafeteria line.
I snuck up behind him and placed my hands infront of his eyes.
He took my hands in his and spun himself around, smiling widely.
"Hey, come sit with me," Derek said.
I nodded, "Sure, oh and don't bore a hole through your plate,"
He frowned then looked at his beans, a smile touching his face, "It looks disgusting,"
I laughed, "You never know, could taste good,"
He smirked and we walked to his table.
Oddly enough, I wasn't nervous.
I felt like I was on top of the world.
I walked outside the school and sighed, feeling as light as a feather.
All of a sudden Marisa stormed infront of me, tears streaming down her face.
"What happened?" I asked.
No matter what, she was Marisa.
We'd been through too much for me to see her crying and just turn her away.
