I walked into the cafeteria, my blonde hair bouncing as I went for my lunch.

I put some food on my plate and then went over to where Marisa and everybody else was sitting.

"Hey guys," I murmered, expecting the atmosphere to be filled with awkwardness.

But surprisingly I got an enthusiastic response.

"Hey!" They said in unison.

My eyebrows shot up to the ceiling.

I turned to Marisa and gave her a confused look.

She smiled and mouthed 'I'll explain later'.

I shrugged, "Christie, are you going to get icecream with us after cheer practice?" A guy on the football team asked me.

"Yeah, sure, are we going by Linda's as usual?" I asked him.

"Yeah," He said.

"Hey Marisa I need to borrow your History text book," Derek said, walking over to our table.

The footballers glared at him while the cheerleaders gawked at him, their lipglosses suddenly jumping out of their purses.

"Do I even do history you dweeb?, no, no I don't, ask Christie," Marisa said.

Derek rolled his eyes and turned to me, "Can I borrow your history text book?" He asked with fake politeness.

I cracked a smile, "Your lucky I actually do history," I said.

I handed him my locker key and told him to lock up when he was done.

He nodded and walked off, some of the cheerleaders gave a dreamy sigh when he was gone.

"He's so handsome," One of them murmered, but I was pretty sure she had a boyfriend.

Marisa groaned and I laughed.

"Is that all your eating christie?" Marisa asked me.

"Yeah, why?" I asked her.

"Can I get your brownie?" She asked.

I laughed and handed the brownie to her.

Marisa sure liked her brownies.

Just then Josh sat down on our table.

Marisa quickly lookes up and smiles at him and he, being the jerk that he is, ignores her and starts to eat his lunch.

"Hi Josh,"Marisa said.

He gives her a 'leave me alone' look and Marisa just continues to eat her lunch.

I glare at him and say, "Are you going deaf Josh?"

He looks at me in bewilderment, "Huh?, no,"

"Really?, because I swear I heard Marisa say something to you," I said.

He scowls and gets up from his seat.

I get up from my seat and simply glare at him.

He walks over to me and I can feel everyone watching us, trying to figure out what will happen next.

"What happens between Marisa and I is none of your business," He whispears in my ear.

"What the hell are you doing Josh?"

I turn quickly around to see Derek standing behind me with my locker key and history book in his hand.

His hazel eyes were locked on Josh and he frowned slightly at him.
