A child chained on the riverside,
It grew up in tricks and became a liar.
We were left in the body of grins, weeping
When we murdered our families to call
Ourselves God.

Five names — we had three faces, made scars
On each, symmetry failed us as we
Failed humanity. We burned fruits,
Raised smoke till they made moon a dark
Skinned tragedy.

Strangers railed at consciousness, sold an artist
Who had already died on art which didn't know
How to spell emotions. We put baby hearts
On a rope–less swing and pushed them so high,
they came back with fluorescent poisons.

Baby hearts smiled like a mother, embraced us
With a bleeding nose as we broke a wall
And cemented them in it. We tied a leg,
Dipped it in the sand to call the ocean
Towards us.

Lapped with teeth, we couldn't save a night for us.
Another child bound in chains, it dove like a dolphin,
Clapped its hands and crawled over a mountain
Then fell into his mother's lap: it lived a life
Without dying.
