Dove's Pov
I liked staying awake at night. It never helped my mind like to run miles along the way. I looked around the small barn where everyone had fallen asleep, after doing so much running today I didn't fully blame them I would have passed out as well.

I honestly didn't blame them, being chased by orcs, and a giant bear who was a skin-changer. There really wasn't a lot I was used to I did need more adventure if I wasn't even all the way used to the long roads.

I sat on the small window watching the moonlight, hearing the deep snores ripping from Bombur seeing that it also had woken up Bilbo who was staring into space.

I decided to take the night watch because it stopped Thorin from fuzzing and worrying, but then it gave him an excuse to fuzz over me not sleeping properly it gave him all the more thoughts to be overprotective of me.

"Biblo? Why aren't you sleep?" I whispered shouted towards him, watching him jump slightly gazing at me with slightly wide eyes.

"You think I can sleep through that." He whispered exclaimed gesturing towards where all the snoring was coming from. I let small giggles out, tracing my brown skin a bit, flicking my black/brown curls away.

"Come take a walk with me, I promise Thorin won't yell at you, I'll yell back." I giggled watching him chew at his lips before he breathed out a happy exclaim.

"Oh thank the heavens lets go, just for a bit." He stammered getting up. I smiled happily, slipping on my boots with a small click. The both of us climbing out the window starting to walk around the large place.

"Bilbo, if I tell you something, you can't tell Thorin ever." I called out glancing at him watching him mess with the small pocket watch

"I promise you have my word." He stuttered out. I chewed at my lip before explaining to him quietly.

"I find elves, incredibly beautiful, and intriguing, the way they walk with grace, I fancy elves more than dwarves."

"Oh, my word."

"Dove I'm serious, you need to stop wandering off so much, what if something happens to you huh?" I felt like a child being scolded by her father listening to Thorin's booming voice shouting at me. It was like I was a child again as we walked along the path Gandolf told us to take after he rushed off again.

"Uncle oh come on, leave her be, she's grown," Fili whined and I messed with my tunic more looking down at my tight trousers and boots.

"Thorin, if you would stop yelling now can I say what I was gonna say?" I suddenly called out trying to get his attention.

"We've been walking in a circle, we've passed that tree." I explained suddenly watching the company look around

"Oh grief she is right," Kili grumbled.

"We've been here before," Bilbo whined.

"What trail is there to follow, we've lost the sun." Bofur exclaimed.

"Find it we split up!" Thorin shouted at everyone. "You Dove, stay in my line of sight." He gave me those eyes that I knew it to disagree.

"Lead the way," I called slowly following behind him all of us slowly taking different paths, I had a feeling in my gut, I had a bad feeling. Bad feelings never lie.

"I think I'm gonna puke!" I exclaimed shouted moving around, scrambling around on the wood grounds, shaking and shivering in disgust. I can handle everything, orcs, wargs, goblins, but I can't handle giant man-eating spiders. I hate spiders with a passion.

I had lost a few of my daggers and sword long between squealing like a child and whining about the spider webs. I wasn't gonna last long in these dark infested woods. "Dove!" I heard Kili screamed.

I let a small one out quickly rolling away, landing with a hard grunt, the spider falling onto me making me squeak again looking at its body in surprise.

I saw an arrow pierced through its body, but it wasn't Kili's it didn't belong to him at all.

I lifted my head up, and honest to the whole durin line. I thought I saw an angel with a bow and sword shooting his way through spiders all-around more slowly joining them.

The talk with Bilbo slowly shining through my head. It was elves everywhere and I wanted to faint. I rolled over pushing the spider off me, slipping my daggers back into my shirt that made my chest pop out.

We were surrounded by elves they really were much taller in person than what I was imagining. "Search them." A voice ordered out. If it wasn't a life or death situation, I'm glad no one could feel how flustered I was.

I watched as he slowly came towards where I was and stood in front of me. His eyes watching me closely.

"A female dwarf?" He questioned before slowly slightly kneeling down. A slow little bell went off in my head as I looked into the blue eyes and blond hair.

"Your Legolas Greenleaf aren't you? Son of Thranduil." I found myself saying shy like watching his blue eyes look at me in surprise, and stunning feeling going across his face.

"You know of me?" He questioned. I slowly briefly nodded my head looking at him in awe.

He studied me before he cracked a small smile, chuckling shaking his head. "Would you mind giving me all your weapons, I  wouldn't dare strip or harm a woman." He told me gently.

I couldn't help the shy smile before I nodded grabbing both daggers placing them in his hands.

Before I moved my hands through my hair, showing him the small little arrows, before grabbing the small blade in my boots handing them to him watching him place them all in a little pack on his back where his arrows were, along with his bow.

He gave me one last smile, before he stood up, going to gather with the other elves.

Kili made his way to me and quickly punched me on my arm making me snap out of the daze whining holding it.

"Ow! What was that for?" I whispered hissed at him?

"What the hell was that." He hissed back at me. I looked over to see Legolas was peering at me from the corner of his eyes before he looked away.

"I have no idea." I slowly breathed out.
