"So, where we going?" Riley (aka Ri) asked me.
"To Starbucks. For coffee."
"Yay!! Caffeine!" She shouted.

My name is Amanda Powell and that's my best friend, Riley Palmer. She's 5ft 5inches and I'm 5ft 9inches. She has long, straight, black shinny hair that stops at the small of her back. She has baby blue eyes and pink lips. She's crazy at times but loving.
Me on the other hand, I have curly brown hair that stops right bellow my shoulders. (I cut it monthly.) I have forest green eyes and is a silent nerd.
We've been bffs from kindergarten. She lives about two blocks away from me. We're 17 years old and its our last year in high school. We live in a small town in Oklahoma called Crystal Falls. It's pretty neat and everyone knows everyone plus, its so peaceful here. No crime or anything. Paradise to me. Well that's what I thought.

"Yeah, caffeine." I said shaking my head.
We took the short route to Starbucks, to avoid traffic. We're in my new red and black Honda Accord that my parents got for me for my birthday. When I step in Starbucks, the smell of coffee hit me first then the two girls at the window. They were Sara Wilson and Kat Wang. The two bullies at school.

(I just can't wait until we graduate and out of that hell hole. Then it will be college with more mature people.)

I just duck my head and went to the cash register and made my order.
"I'll have coffee. Black. Thanks."
"And I'll have a expresso. Thanks."
"That will be $16.90."
"I'll pay Ri. Here you go."
"Thank you. Please wait 5 minutes." The casher said.
"I though you said you wanted caffeine?" I asked Ri with a quizzical expression.
"Change my mind at the last moment." She said shrugging.
"Here are your drinks."
"Thanks." We said simultaneously.
"Let's go. We're almost late for school."
"We have ten more minutes and school is right around the corner."
"Let's go anyway."
"Your no fun." She complained.
"When we graduate, that's when I'll be fun. Now let's go."
"Okay mammy."
"What??"
"Nothing. Let's go. We're late. You coming or what?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm right behind you."
We exited Starbucks and went into my car. It didn't take us long to reach school. I parked and went up to the school doors.

"Nothing but students and home works to worry about. Nothing unusual will happen. No sir, not in Crystal Falls." I told myself before I entered the big, old, red building.

Pity I didn't know what the future held for me.
