Chapter 9

3rd POV

"Well I first met Lance in the library. I had fallen asleep after studying a bunch but when I woke up I had a very nice and soft blanket wrapped around me and I found Lance studying beside me most likely staying until I woke up. He gave me a glass of water and made sure that I was up, awake and not going to go back to sleep. Thankfully the teachers had given him permission to stay with me since they knew that I was studying for the Kerberos mission and would wake up soon enough that he wouldn't be up all night. He offered to help me with some work so that I wouldn't have to stay up all night looking through books so that I understood what I was ding, and that was how our friendship formed. We always met in the library after classes finished to work on assignments and he was a really big help."

Matt sighs and looks sad but continues. "But, I couldn't help but feel there was something wrong in his life that he always kept inside. He flinched when someone spoke louder than usual and always kept away from crowds of people whenever he could. He was always on guard whenever I saw him except for in the library. He was always alone until Hunk became his friend, when he first met you hunk that was the first time I had seen him smile at school when he wasn't with me. He cherished me and hunk and protected us like a mother would with her pups (they call their children pups) and he was able to calm me even on my worst most stressful days when I wouldn't even talk to you, father or mother, Pidge." Matt says looking up at an astonished Pidge. "I finally found out more about him after about a month of being his friend, or study mate I guess you could say. It was the day we all went home for winter break because of some important meeting they were having at the garrison, and I was about to walk home when I Lance walking away from the garrison, with a women that looked like him. I decided to follow them just to make sure that Lance was safe. I waited until they went inside and then looked in through the window. What I saw wasn't what I was expecting. He was slapped and punched by his mother and father. They yelled at him saying that he was a burden to them and should have never been born, that he was a mistake. I sent my scent towards him through the crack in the open window and then sprinted away back home and acted like everything was okay even though I wanted nothing more than to go back to Lance's house and save him. When we got back to the garrison after that short break he found me and cried in my arms calling himself worthless and useless. I bandaged his wounds and stitched the deeper ones closed and then had him sleep with me that night. After that almost a week later he told me he was an Omega when he was about to go into heat and I was thankfully able to get him some heat suppressants before anything had happened thankfully and I even got him some more for when I was going to be away on the kerberos mission because he told me his family wouldn't get him suppressants. He didn't talk about what I had seen but I knew that it meant that he was being abused at home, but I didn't know why, he didn't do anything to them. He had many panic attacks after waking up from nightmares that I tried to help calm him down from since he always came running to my room even in his stressed state. He began to tell me more about the happenings in his home and I learned that they hated him because he was an omega and the rest of theme were Alpha's he even told me that before he got into the garrison he was constantly raped by his fathers and his fathers friends for fucks sake and no one but me and him knew about it. Even some kids from the Garrison had done some indecent things to him but I thankfully stopped it before anything more than forced kissing could happen. I wanted to tell someone especially you Shiro so that he could get help and wouldn't have to go back to his home but I had sworn to never tell a soul. And I wasn't going to break his promise. But he had given me permission to tell you, just before he was picked up and taken."
