I blinked a few times. "Followed?" i asked. Coulson nodded his head.
"I sent Steve and Nat on a mission to find him beofre you or anyone in this facility is killed." he explained. I pulled a chair out from under the table and fell into it. I took a deep breath and wrapped my hands around my phone.
I typed in the numbers I know to well and waited for her to pick up. "HI this is Kelly's phone. Leave a message, or dont. I dont care. Bye!" her voice mail said.
"Hey Kells its Jordan call me when you get this. It's important." i said and hung up. "Do you know where she is?" i asked Agent Coulson with tears starting for form in my eyes with his possible answer.
He looked down at the table, along with Clint. "Where the hell is she?" i demanded louder than I should have.
"She-" Coulson started but was interupted by the door opening and slamming back shut. I looked over to see that Agent Hill had walked in.
"We lost contact with her a few days ago. Around when Nick was shot down." she explained to me. I hit my head onto the table twice.
"Why, why, why? Why must the bad things have to happen to me? Havent I been punished enough?" i muttered to myself. I closed my eyes and listened to two pairs of feet leave the room.
A hand landed on my back and I lifted my head slightly to see who stayed. Clint. "We will find her. I promise you that." he said. I nodded once and sat up in the chair.
"I want to practice. Now." i said, heading to the elevator. Clint chased after me and we headed down to the practice room. I stepped in and was met with the scent of gun powder and sweat. I walked over to a table that was placed for gun cleaning and took arrows off the wall behind it.
I set them on the table and started to clean them. Once I was satisfied then I walked to the wall that holds mine and Clints bows. His was there, waiting to be used, but mine wasnt. I looked around to see if anyone else had it but they didnt. I walked behind a shelf and found it lying on the ground where I dropped it earlier.
I picked it up and loaded an arrow and headed towards the practice with the arrows on my back. I stood how Clint always showed me and shot, and shot, and shot, untill my arm and fingers were red and numb. I put the bow and arrows back down on the table and collapsed onto the floor, the day's events catcing up with me.
I pulled my knees to my chest and wrapped my arms around them. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths. I took my phone out and called the hospital. A lady picked up on the first ring. "How may I direct your call?" she asked in a too happy tone.
"What time are visiting hours?" i asked, hoping they start again soon.
"Noon to six pm." she said. I said a thanks as hung up. I sighed and looked at my phone. 11:37 it read. I sighed and threw it across the floor. It hit the side of Clint's boot and spun the other way. While it slid it sstarted to ring.
I jumped to my feet and ran to the phone. I looked at the Caller ID and noticed that is was an unknown number. I unlocked my phone and answered it. "Hello?" i asked.
"Miss MacKay?" the voice asked.
"Yes... Who is this?" i asked, getting Clint's attention. He stopped what he was doing and came over to me.
"I'm hurt that you dont know your own follower." he said, hinting to who he is.
My eyes widdened. "Y-you're the W-winter S-soldier?" i asked, terror running through me. When there wasnt an answer I looked to see if he had gotten disconnected but when I looked there was no sign that he had even called. "How is that possible?" i asked, looking to Cliint. He shrugged my shoulders and took my phone from my grasp.
"Agent Webber might be able to find where the call was comming from." he said in a hurry wile running us the stairs rather than taking the elevator. i floolwed slower behind him and pushed the heavy door open after he ran through. We walked up to a man with spiked up brown hair. He was dressed in a white lab coat and had goggles on.
I watched as Clint talked to him and the man looked over to me with a sad expression on his face. I looked down at my shoes while the men were working. I played with my mothers ring that was still on my finger from the day before. I sighed and thought about why The Winter soldier would want me.
I remembered that my files were sitting on the side of Thor's bed where I left them, hoping they were still there. I felt a tap on my shoulder and spun around to see a young girl with bright red hair. "Hi, can I help you?" she asked in a sweet voice.
"Umm, no. I'm with him." i said, pointing to Clint and the other man. "Oh ok. I'm Audrey by the way and that is Sean." she said, sticking her hand out to me. I shook it with a smile on my face.
"Hi, I'm..." i said but she cut me off.
"I know who you are! You and Thor are together, duh." she said, making wierd faces as she spoke. I cracked a small smile.
I nodded my head, "That obvous?" ii asked. All she did was nod and walk up to the man Clint was still talking to. I followed slowly behind her and listened silently.
"He has better technology then the phone you have here. His was probably an FM32 model, best of Hydras time. They can make calls on it and not be able to be tracked, and the person they called cant go to the police because looking at recent calls, she hasnt had one in over two weeks." he explained.
I heard a crash from one of the tables behind me and jumped, looking back I saw Audrey had dropped something. She was franticly trying to pick it up. She had a dark red tint to her cheeks, totally embarresed. I smiled and walked over to her. I noticed she didnt have a lab coat on.
"Do you work in here?" i asked. She looked up at me and shook her head, throwing glass fragments onto the table. "Where do you work?" i asked again, wanting to know why she had a black trainers uniform on.
"I am training to become a field agent. Why?" she asked, annoiance clear in her voice.
"Thats awesome. If you need help I could show you a few things." i offered. She looked at me again with a sad smile.
"I'm sorry im being mean. I would love for you to show me some things. But i'm not super good, ok?" she asked, unsure if I would still help her.
"That's fine. I was really bad when I started. You'll get better. Do you want to go down now?" i asked her.
She shot up off the floor "YES!" she yelled super loud, causing Clint to jump. I turned over my shoulder and yelled to Clint.
"I'm going to show her a few things in the training room. I'll be safe, promise." i said to him. He held up and hand, telling me to wait. I did and watched as he made his way over to me. He stopped when he was right in front of me.
He stuck his hand out and opened the fist to show a neckless with a tiny blue crystal orb hanging from the black chain. I looked up at him with curiocity on my face. "What's that for?" i asked him.
He said, "It was charmed in Asguard to tell if something happens to the person who wears it. It sends a wave of heat to the other person who has the rest of the stone." I looked at his wrist where a blue orb hung. "Steve and Thor also have one. To keep you safe." he said. He turned me around and put the neckless on me, pushing me after Audrey.
I followed her out but looked through the window to see him on the phone. He looked over, smiled and waved at me. I waved back and disapeared in the elevator, headed for traaining.
