The cold air hits my robe covered body, crickets chirp in the long grass and the moon shines its sliver onto the lake.

I discard my robe on the log and sit on the dock just enjoying the cold breeze across my bare body, my hair unable to be persuaded by the wind as it's up in a bun.

"I wish I could leave... maybe tonight I'll just let myself drown." I laugh solemnly to myself. I let my legs dangle into the water and I lean back on the wood.

"Oh it's the Little Dipper." I sigh pointing to the stars, talking to myself through boredom. I point out different constellations ignoring the Rustling in the bushes because the dogs are running around.

After a while I dive into the water smile slightly, this is the only time during the day I feel minimal pain and it's wonderful.

"I wish I could live in the water" I sigh leaning on a piece of driftwood. "I feel so calm and comfortable"

My fingers dance over the surface of the water as I just enjoy the feeling of being weightless. The crunching of leaves come close to the edge of the water.

"W-Why?" An unfamiliar voice reaches my ears and I panic and fall under the water for a moment.

"W-who are you and how did you get past my dogs!"

"I asked a q-question first" the voice more clear than the first time. I pull the driftwood close to me to cover my exposed self.

I look where the voice originated and see a male wearing a hood, goggles and a mask that only covers his mouth. He has two hatchets attached to his hips.

"Why do I like being in the water?" I ask bewildered that someone cares to ask for my honest opinion. And he nods at that, his hand twitches near one of the hatchets and I flinch thinking he's going to bury it in my skull

"I-I don't feel as much pain." I whisper scared. My hands are shaking in fear

"What?" His head tilts to the side innocently, making me less afraid.

"O-oh I have chronic pain in my back and legs" I give a lopsided smile that I've always been scolded for.

"What d-does it feel like?" He scoots closer to the water.

I swim a bit away and huff, "who are you and how did you get past my dogs!"

He scoffs and walks back into the forest his hands twitching a lot. I feel my face heat up embarrassed that he saw me naked.
