THE ELEVATOR TRIP TO THE OBSERVATORY WAS A SLIGHTLY AWKWARD AND LONG TRIP. The trip mainly consisted of Ferris and I stealing glances at each other whilst Sloane and Cameron looked around awkwardly, trying to not get involved in the tension between Ferris and I.

After making it to the lobby and out of the building, Ferris led us all to the Stock Market building where we were all sat, frankly, quite bored. I sat and laughed as I watched Cameron make fun of all of the men and women inside of the building using their various hand signs to communicate with each other.

Ferris stood and made his way to the window for a moment as he looked down at all of the red and yellow adorned men and women in the large, computer-filled room. "You wanna get married?" Ferris asked me out of the blue. My laughing ceased as I turned to look at him.

"Sure, Ferris. Let's get hitched." I replied with a roll of my eyes and a slight chuckle. Cameron sat next to me making noises that resembled a dripping tap, and Sloane glanced over her shoulder at me cautiously.

"Today?" Ferris questioned as he raised his eyebrows. I laughed and shook my head to the side and began playing with the hem of my shirt. "Your real funny, Ferris." I spoke quietly. "I'm serious." He spoke. I looked up and made eye contact with him. He had the most serious face I had ever seen him with.

"I... I'm not getting married to you, Ferris." I spoke with slight anger and confusion. He can't be serious about anything. I thought, shaking my head. Cameron continued to make his dripping noises next to me as he stared at the ceiling. Sloane turned to me fully with a weird look on her face. "Why not?" He questioned with his puppy-dog eyes.

"What do you mean 'why not', Ferris? Think about it." I replied rather loudly. "We, no, besides being too young, having no place to live, you feeling a little awkward about being the only person in your class to have a husband, gimme one good reason why not?" He stated with a 'matter-of-fact' look on his face.

I was completely silent, just staring in awe at his face. Sloane was also at a loss for words as she turned towards Ferris with a 'what the hell' look on her face. Suddenly Cameron began to speak up. "I'll give you two reasons why not. My mother and my father." He began. "They're married and they hate each other. You've seen 'em, am I right?" Cameron finished as he looked at Ferris.

Sloane and I had just been watching the conversation between them in shock. "So what?" Ferris questioned Cameron. "Well, it's like that car. He loves the car, he hates his wife." Cameron stated, and then continued to making his dripping noises with a smug look on his face.

I was thankful for Cameron stepping in, but as I looked back at Ferris, the look on his face was really quite saddening. His expression looked like a mixture of betrayal, confusion, and sadness. I looked at him and felt like crap. It was obviously him just attempting to make a joke and now he looks like a little lost puppy.

Ferris looked up at me and his expression suddenly changed back to the old excited and trouble making Ferris look. "I got an idea." He spoke, standing up rather quickly. "What is it?" Sloane asked him. "There's this restaurant just up the road. Is anyone else hungry?" He questioned with an excited look on his face.

"I could eat." Cameron spoke up. "Yeah, i'm hungry too." Sloane added, standing up as well. "Y/N?" Ferris asked slowly as he turned towards me. "Yeah, but your paying." I replied and laughed as I stood up as well. "It would be my pleasure, ma Cherie." Ferris said in a French accent as he bowed. I giggled as he straightened his posture and flashed his signature smirk. "Come on, lover-boy, I'm hungry." I said as I reached up and ruffled his hair.

"This way, darlin'." He said, pointing to the door as we all followed suit. We began to make our way out of the door and into the street when Sloane pulled me to the side. "I know that you like him." She spoke simply, crossing her arms over her chest with a smile. "Huh? No, no I don't. I do not like Ferris Bueller." I replied rather quickly, waving my hands in front of my body as I tried to sell the point.

"Yes, yes you do. You guys flirt non-stop!" She threw her hands in the air exasperatedly. "Psshhhh, no, that's just us! That's just what we do. We make fun of each other and stuff because we are friends." I replied and looked down at the pavement.

"Look, Y/N, I understand that your afraid of rejection, but I know for a fact that he likes you too! Not only does he give you hints all the time, he actually told me! He just asked you to marry him, for goodness sake. The poor boys head over heels for you and you keep on shooting him down. If you don't let him know you feel the same now, you might lose your chance. He's going to college next year, think of all the girls there." Sloane basically yelled at me.

"Even if I wanted to tell him, I wouldn't know how." I told her. Sloane smiled widely. "Well, that's where Cameron and I come in." She laughed manically and started dragging me along the side walk beside her as we tried to catch up with Cameron and Ferris. "Okay so, when we catch up to them, hold Ferris' hand." Sloane whispered in my ear as we caught up to the boys.

"Wait, what?" I questioned just as Sloane pushed me into Ferris. I fell into the back of Ferris and managed to fall flat on my butt. Ferris and Cameron turned around quickly to see a snickering Sloane and me on my backside on the pavement. "I'm not even going to ask how you ended up own there." Ferris laughed as he extended his hand to me and helped me up from the floor.

"Thanks." I said and smiled as he helped me to my feet. We began to walk towards the restaurant as Ferris slowly began to let my hand slip from his. I started to think about what Sloane had said to me earlier. I do feel something for Ferris.  I'm not exactly sure what, but I know the feeling has been there since we were little. Maybe I do need to make a move before it's to late.

I quickly reached out and grasped onto his hand once more. I felt him tense up and slow his pace as I tried to avoid his gaze. After a few seconds Ferris tightened his grip on my hand and we began to walk in step with each other. "So, that's new." Ferris stated as he looked down at our intertwined fingers. "Don't take it too seriously." I joked as I looked up into his gaze once more. He chuckled as he pointed to a building in front of us. "We're here." Ferris said as we all made a stop.

"Cheese Quiz?" Sloane questioned as she read the obviously French name of the restaurant. "It's pronounced Chez Quis, Sloane." I replied with a giggle. "Looks very expensive." Cameron stated with a monotonous expression. "Let's just go hit up a McDonald's, we can't afford this place." Cameron continued. "Oh, we can afford it, Cam, for I have a plan." Ferris said with a dubious smile.

"Oh god Ferris, what have you got planned this time?" I questioned in a slightly scared tone. "You'll see, sweetheart, you'll see."
