Chapter Five : Run OR Fight.

(David's POV)
Redwood
8:00 pm

The sun had set and moon had risen to its epic glory.

It was already dark and I knew I was in big trouble. First of all I had missed curfew and second I had taken Nick's bike with me.

"I have been walking for half an hour by now but I don't see any trace of either Vulko or his brother '' I lamented.

I spotted an old cottage and was hesitant about checking it until I heard voices from behind.

I hid behind the back of the cottage and peeked only to find Vulko and his brother in the midst of actual werewolves.

I eavesdropped on the conversation and heard ''Mom you know what. Vulko was about to tell our secrets to one of his friends '' One said.

''It wasn't like that Mom? '' I heard Vulko reply back.

''Then tell me what it was? '' A voice shouted at him, which I deduced to be his Mom.

"Go and get me that boy!! " His mom ordered, as the remaining werewolves howled.

"Oh... No. This is not good " I said to myself, after hearing her instruction.

As I turned around to flee, I stepped on a twig and what came afterwards was more brutalizing.

"What was that? " One asked, with keen interest.

"It must have been a deer " Vulko replied.

"No. That wasn't a deer " Draco replied sniffing around.

"I can smell Human flesh " Draco added, as his eyes turned red before he transformed into a werewolf.

"Am so dead " I spoke, to himself while swallowing my saliva.

I ran as my feet could carry me and took cover behind a tree.

I could hear the howls get louder and anticipated an encounter with one of them anytime soon.

"The scent is coming from behind that tree " I could hear one of the wolves yell.

With that I quickly darted but couldn't go further than some metres away as I saw Draco racing towards me.

"What the hell are you doing out here " Suddenly said a voice at my back.

Looking around I found the voice to be that of Nick.

Using his powers Nick made a circular force field made of pure electricity, enclosing us within.

"What are you doing here and this late mom has been eagerly awaiting you for a while " Nick whined.

"Am sorry but you can't believe what I found out today "

"No time for that. What are we up against? " He asked me.

"Werewolves. Lots and lots of them " I replied.

"Good thing I brought your bow. I told you to keep it with you always " He smiled, lunging my bow at me.

I thanked him and quickly laid two arrows in between my bow and waited for Nick to drop the field.

The impact formed when Nick released the force field sent three nearby werewolves, flying into the sky before crashing down on the trees.

I quickly released my shots straight at two incoming which hit them perfectly on the arm.

Nick on the other hand, shot electrical bolts at two grey werewolves blasting them miles away.

"Maybe this town isn't as bad as I thought " I yelled at Nick, who had formed claws on both hands and had jabbed a werewolf with it.

He then twirled around on his heels and inflicted more harm on the poor Lycan.

While Nick was faring relatively good, I on the other hand was not.

I was running out of arrows and a very large docile looking Lycan was racing towards me.

I was able to jump out of harms way just in time as he crashed into a tree.

I reached out for a tree branch and slammed it right through it.

This annoyed it more as it leaped on me pinning me down.

"Easy doggy doggy doggy "  I spoke, trying to calm it down.

But instead it repeatedly tried to bite my head off but I was able to dodge every single time.

"Nick a little help here " I yelled at Nick, while still pinned against the ground.

Seeing my current situation, Nick powered up his fingers with electricity. Blue sparks whirled around his hands, crackling endlessly.

He directed the bolt at the unrelenting werewolf which sent him far into the woods, out of sight.

Seeing their leader knocked out of the picture, the werewolves cowardly soon followed.

"You still think this Town's normal " I chuckled.

"Nah. Just started seeing so " I replied.

"Let's get out of here before they are back with more " Said Nick.

"Yeah "

"You're still in big trouble " He warmed, punching me in the arm.

He formed a circular board and I climbed on and he flew us out of the cursed forest.

I spotted a peculiar red werewolf staring down at us. It had seen or heard of grey, black, ash, brown but never red which made me wonder just what kind of town was this.

Somewhere deep in
the Redwood.

"How could you be so irresponsible and let him go " A woman yelled at Draco.

"You couldn't seize a small boy " She added.

"He wasn't alone. he had a friend with him " He defended himself.

"Why would I care "

"Well you should. They aren't not just simple humans they are something much more powerful than them "

"Continue " She ordered.

"One could control electricity, the other a bow which shot blazing hot arrows "

"You are sure about this? " She asked.

"I swear mother " He swore.

"Very well you are off the hook for now "

"What are we going to do mother "  A female werewolf asked.

"Nothing. Your dad is going to be in town in two days. We'll tell him everything then " She laughed.

The others soon joined in and their laughter soon echoed throughout the forest.
