Byleth:

Option A: What's up?

Option B: Is something wrong?

Gatekeeper (A): I need a favor.

Gatekeeper (B): Kinda...

Gatekeeper: Since the kidnapping... I've wanted to be stronger. I wanna make sure no one gets hurt again and...

(Sighs.)

Your students have been growing stronger at an incredible rate.

I want you to teach me, professor.

Can you teach me to become stronger so that no one gets hurt again?

Byleth: (Nods.)

Gatekeeper: (Shouts eagerly.) Thank you! You won't regret it!

Byleth: (Stands in front of Jeralt's grave.)

Gatekeeper: Hey...

Byleth:

Option A: Hey...

Option B: Sorry I was distant during the lesson today...

Gatekeeper (B): It's alright I understand.

Gatekeeper (A/Normal): It's because you miss him? Isn't it?

Byleth: (Nods sadly.)

Gatekeeper: It's OK. He's... well, he's in a better place now. Past the golden gates so to speak.

Get it? Gates? Heaven?

Byleth: (Shows a weary smile.)

Gatekeeper: May I share a story, friend?

Byleth: (Nods.)

Gatekeeper: Before I was a gatekeeper, I was a mercenary. I guarded a town, was hired to fight off some pirates. I fought with all I had at those gates but...

It wasn't enough.

I was stabbed, beaten, blasted with magic, and left to die.

I failed that town and as I lay there in my own blood I heard them scream. I crawled, pulling my broken body into town as it burned, my broken lance in hand as I approached a pirate, wanting to protect the people until my last breath.

I was saved by the knights of Serios, but the villagers...

That is why I guard the gates.

I will never fail to hold the line!

Not again!

I will send our enemies to the gates of Hell!

I promise you, professor.

That no matter what happens, someday, all the students here will reach the golden gates, and we will have know peace together.

Until then, I will hold the line, and guard the gates to your heart.
