WHEN SKY MET THE OCEAN

chapter 2 ( Aarohi's POV) (part1)

I switched on my phone and typed my boss a resignation letter. After that, I searched 'Seattle' in Google. It is a great place. But what if after completing my internship I do not get a job there. What am I gonna do? All my thoughts break by the notification sound from my phone. I opened my emails to check the recent one.

From: Madhav Agarwal
To: Aarohi Khurrana
Subject: details

Hey Aarohi,
All the paperwork is done. The company will provide you with an apartment to accommodate there. But you have to share the apartment with a co-office worker. I have also sent you some papers which you need to sign.

I am really nervous. I don't know how will I manage there in an unknown city. Was it the right decision, for me to move to Seattle?
I kept my phone on the table near my bed and lied down on my bed. In a minute or two, I fell asleep.

I woke up. It was 6 am in the morning. My mom's plane would land in Mumbai at 9 am. I go to the washroom to take a shower. I went out of my room. I was feeling very hungry because I didn't eat anything since yesterday afternoon. I go straight to the kitchen, open the refrigerator to find some food to eat. I grab two slices of bread and peanut butter from the fridge. I apply some peanut butter on my bread slices. There is nothing so appetizing than peanut butter.
Shit! I have to pack. I rush to my room, find my two large suitcases. I take everything from my cupboard including my casual tank tops, shirts, all my jeans, T-shirts, some one-piece dresses and oversized coats. After being done with my clothes, I pack all my toiletries and all my makeup products (consisting of only moisturizer, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick and foundation) in a small pouch.
And done!!!

I and my cousin Vivek leave to pick up my mom from the airport. "Here she is! " Vivek said. She is wearing a light pink salwar suit with her favorite flat sandals and absolutely no makeup on her face. "Hi, mom! I missed you so much" I exclaimed. She gave me a warm hug which I was missing since I left her. "You do not look so good. Have you slept last night? " asked my mom. "Yes, I have a mom. Don't worry about me" I replied. We went back to our home. Aunt had cooked breakfast for all of us. We all finished our foods and mom went into my room with me. "when are your flight? "asked my mom. "It's at 10 pm tonight " I replied. " Take care of yourself, dear. Let me advise you about something. There will be problems in your way but never quit or run away from them and always remember that everything that happens, happens for a reason! " she said.

It was at 9 pm. I excited about everything that follows but somewhere in my heart there was a fear of losing something which I cannot understand.
My aunt and my uncle, Vivek and my mom came along with me to the airport. "Take care of yourself Beta! "said mom. I nodded my head. Vivek helped me to carry my luggage to the main entrance of the airport. All of them waved at me. "Bye! Take care and call me once you land" said mom. It was difficult for me to leave my family and go to a place where I have never been to before. I know it was unfavorable for her too.
I stepped inside the airport gate and gave them a final wave.
