chapter 1(Aarohi's POV)(part2)

"No Aarohi, you are not selected for it but you are selected for another internship at Nicholas enterprises & Co in Seattle", said my boss. "Seattle, where's that? ", I asked. "It's in Washington DC", exclaimed my boss. " Let me tell you Aarohi that it is one of the biggest companies in Washington. So tell me would you like to work for it? Because I have to send them the details soon by an hour" boss explained. "I need some time to think at least. Give me five minutes sir, I will be back with a decision", I replied. "sure take time but hurry up! " said boss.
I walked out of the boss's room straight towards the cafeteria. I ordered some coffee for myself and sat down at my favorite spot in the office's cafeteria.
The words 'biggest enterprises' and 'Seattle' echoed in my mind. Should I go? Maybe it is a good opportunity. But where will I stay there? None of my relatives are there. I stare at the clock in the cafeteria. It's from 9:00 am.
I walk up through the stairs to the boss's room. I didn't decide anything but some strong force was compelling me to say 'yes'.
"Have you decided anything", said boss. "ah... Yes! I..... Will... Go...!! ", I said. "That's a good decision. So then I will send your resume to them and your other reports. You also need to send me your resignation letter " the boss said. " yes! Sure sir. I will send it through email ", I replied. " Okay, you can leave home for your packing. And I will do all your paperwork and send you by fax", the boss said. "OK sir thank you for all the trouble", I replied. I walked out of his room.
I went to my relative's house to share this news with them. They were overjoyed to hear about my success. Especially my uncle, went out to buy some sweets for this joyous day.
I went back to my room. Switched on my phone to call my mom. It kept on ringing for the first time and no one picked up. The second time it was picked by my mom. She said, "hello! Everything's fine? ". I said, "yes, everything is fine but there is a thing I wanted to share that I got selected for the internship in Seattle and I am leaving for Seattle at the end of this week". "Oh, that's great! Beta, I am so happy for you. I will arrange my tickets for Mumbai to visit you before you leave, as soon as possible. Aah..... But how can I leave you alone in a place where you have never been? Maybe I should come along with you? " she said. I replied, "no it's fine I will manage there mom. There is no need for your company". "okay, then at least I can see you before you go? " she said. "yes mom! Come soon, It's been a long time since I have seen you" I replied. My mom has always supported me in everything since my dad left. When my dad left my mom, suffered from depression for 6 months, she didn't speak with anyone. After she recovered from it she realized that she had responsibilities. Especially educating me and making me eligible for fulfilling my own responsibilities. She struggled for the job and made me what I am right now. I owe her everything.
