Y/n
My legs dangle off the tall table in the examination room. Stark walks past me to grab a needle. My anxiety skyrockets.

"No."

"Y/n-"

"No."

"You'll only feel a pinch, I promise."

"That's what they all say," I hop off the table, getting ready to book it across the room if he steps closer. Much to my annoyance, he begins running towards me.

I yelp, sprinting across the room, grabbing whatever I can to throw it at him. I grab what seems to be a microscope, throwing it behind me mindlessly and missing. I maneuver through the scientific interments, silently praying that I don't trip and die.

I jinxed it.

My body comes into contact with another's and I stumble back. I look up at Clint's confused expression.

"What's going on here?" Steve growls.

"She doesn't like needles," Tony said accusingly.

"What, I-"

"There's no need to worry, Ms. Malkovich," Fury steps in, Steve sending him a glare, Clint turning his head away from him, and Natasha avoiding his gaze. "You can trust Mr. Stark."

I heave a sigh and sink into an empty chair. Lucy barks protectively as Tony nears me. The top of the needle digs into my skin, drawing blood, and making me feel nauseous.

"What are they planning on doing to me?" I whisper to him. His playful grin falters.

"Nothing," he said back.

"I trust you," I smile.

He gently removes the needle from my arm. I could see the guilt in his eyes. He places it down and slips gloves on, dropping the blood onto a disc and putting it under a microscope.

"What do you see?" Fury asks.

"Nothing out of the ordinary," Stark said. He takes the disc and slides it into an unfamiliar machine. It flashes a variety of different pictures. "Woah," he breathes out. I look up at the screen. "I've never seen blood cells like this before."

"Y/n," Natasha said. I turn my head to her. "Come with us."

I bid farewell to Tony and follow Steve and Natasha out of the lab. They lead me to a different room.

This isn't sketchy.

Lucy leaps out of Steve's arms and into mine. He pouts and I laugh. Natasha motions to the singular seat in the middle of the room.

"What is this?"

"We need to run some tests," he said. I sigh and release Lucy, allowing the smart dog to roam the room freely.

I sink into the seat. It slowly lowers. Steve towers above me. I couldn't help but smile at his handsome features. He places a heavy, cold object on my head.

Natasha stands behind a control system. Steve nods to her and she presses a button.

In a split second, my heartbeat increased. I gripped the armrests as the world began to shake profusely. Out of fear, I shut my eyes and grit my teeth.

What's happening?

I feel a hand rest on my upper arm. Warmth spreads throughout my body and I slowly drift into slumber.

No!

I jolt awake, examining my surroundings.

I inhale sharply.

There isn't a building on for miles. That's when I hear what seems to be crying. I hop off the chair, running my fingers down its rusty metal. I spot a girl hunched over, holding her head as she cries.

My eyebrows knit as I slowly begin to approach the poor girl. I place my hand on her shoulder but my hand goes right through.

She pounds her hands on the floor, startling me. The woman digs her fingers into the dirt and screams piercingly. God, that sound is horrifying.

She picks up a sword in her hand, her tears falling to the ground like raindrops. The sword slowly began to disintegrate.

The world slowly began to spin and suddenly, I'm in a different place.

My heartbeat pounds in my ears as tears brim my eyes. I grab someone's hand.

I didn't know why I'm doing it but something told me not to let go.

I look down into the familiar eyes, fiery hair blowing loosely in the wind.

"Y/n!" I hear someone yell.

Clint?

"Let me go."
