So there we were minding our own business, butter beers on the table, when somebody decided that then would be a good time to start yelling at us both. 'Crazy old hag.' I thought to myself. She was saying something about us being corrupt, saying that we were going to help 'He Who Must Not Be Named'! Did I miss something there? I don't think so. Draco and I were just sitting there, stunned, our eyes wide and mouths agape. The Leaky Cauldron was, once again, silent, so much so I swear you would have been able to hear a pin drop. "Shall we go home, Mia?" Draco asked bringing me out of my shocked state; he was rising from his seat. I nodded and began gathering my possessions. But Draco stopped me and took got everything!

“Okay, so how do we get there?” I asked my friend but he wouldn’t tell me anything. I let out a frustrated sigh and glared at the back of his head as we walked down the suffocating streets of London. As we neared the end of a street, I could make out a figure clad in black but there hair was as blond as Draco’s. My face paled and my heart sped up in realisation ‘Oh God’ I thought. Lucius Malfoy was stood there, his eyes cold and hard. His lips were set in a hard line. His eyes trained on Draco and my friend didn’t take his from his father’s

“Ah Mia Weasley, good to see that you’ve finally got out of the tip you family calls a home.” Lucius Sneered. I gave him a look that said don’t start. “Father, you said that you would be nice. Mia is my friend and she deserves to be treated as such.” Draco reprimanded the man, who he looked so much like. Lucius kept his mouth shut and nodded in my direction, I nodded back. “Shall we go back to the manor then Draco?” His Father suggested. Draco nodded and started walking behind his father and after a few moments of hesitation, I followed next to my blonde friend. He gave me a gleeful smile that was so unlike him that it surprised me. I smiled back but I realised that it didn’t reach my eyes. They were full of sadness and I found that, that was true when Draco asked what was wrong. I shook my head saying that I was fine.

We walked into an ally. It was dangerously dark and damp but away from any prying muggle’s eyes. Offering me his arm, Lucius gave me a look that I couldn’t decipher. I took it, wincing when the rough fabric of his top touched my skin, we apperated to a yard. No lawn. There was a path that led to a manor. Malfoy Manor to be exact. “Wow.” I said, it was massive and I was at a loss for words. I could hear both Malfoys chuckle at my awe. The manor was Georgian style that looked as if it had six floors. (AN: I don’t know how many floors there actually are! Sorry if it’s wrong) It was as if it was always it the gloom of the shadow that hung over it. Draco started up the long, winding path and after a few moments of hesitation, I followed. Once I caught up with him, he offered me his hand and a smile which I took gratefully and smiled back. He was really happy today.

There were lights in some of the front rooms from what I could see through the dirty window; the sun had set just minutes ago and it was rapidly going dark. “When we get in, there are some things that  you need to know: one we live very differently to you, speak unless spoken to, we have different beliefs to you and don’t say anything against ‘He Who Must Not Be Named; that may get you killed. Okay” I nodded the last one was harsh wasn’t it? But I didn’t say anything. “Good.” He said comfortingly. “Oh and don’t worry, my mother will love you, I promise.” I hadn’t realised this, but we were at the front door already and it was already open. I took a deep breath and then stepped through after Draco.

To say that I was scared was an understatement. This place was so different to my home and I was sure that I’d get lost in the first few weeks that I was here, even if Draco gave me a tour a million times. The hall was also dark lit by a single gas lamp but I could see that hundreds of portraits covered the walls, even though there was so much grime on them. They were screaming things like: “Blood Traitor!’ and ‘Muggle Lover!’ I looked at Draco my eyes holding shock but he wasn’t looking at me, instead he was looking directly in front. But he definitely felt my stare as his grip on my hand tightened to an almost painful grip. I shook it of thinking that it was because he didn’t want to think about what they would say to me being here and that he was more concerned with what his father was going to do. Even if he acted ‘nice’ back in Muggle London.

We came to a halt at a large, heavy wooden door with intricate patterns carved into the wood. It must have been really expensive but it didn’t shock me because they were Malfoys and only the best was okay for them. Lucius opened the door and was immediately met by a woman, who was sterner looking that McGonagall and that was saying something. She had grey eyes like Draco’s but hers were stormy and wiser than his. Her hair was blonde but it had a black streak in and her face was creased slightly from age; in her eyes were a look of worry but when they landed on Draco, it was gone instantly. “Mother.” Draco greeted her. “Draco. You were gone all day without telling me where you were going. I asked your Father but he said that you’d be fine and that he was going to pick you up later. Where were you?” She asked.

Then her eyes landed on me; she looked shock at first but covered it up quickly. “Who’s your friend Draco?” His mother asked not taking her eyes from me. “Mother, this is Mia Weasley, you know the girl that I’ve been writing to all summer.” My friend informed her. “Oh yes Mia. It’s lovely to finally meet you; you’re all Draco has been speaking about recently and I have been so looking forward to meet the girl that has him so happy. He only ever smiles when he speaks about you.” She said with a smile and then she came and the thing I least expected, she hugged me! She actually hugged me. This was the first hug I’d had since the beginning of the summer, apart from Draco.
