I woke up completely drowsy. I dreamt we had to stay here for years, it's not that I really mind being here, although if I had my laptop that I wasn't allowed to bring and a bed to lay in all day, then living here would be fine.
Wait. Where did they go? Why are we parked? Did they go into a store? I turned around, it was a restaurant. Well, I'm starting to get hungry anyway but why did they go inside without me? I guess they waited for me to wake up.
Oh, they're coming back. Maybe they ordered to go, but I don't see anything in their hands. Did they come to get me? I pretend to be asleep, well I was also still tired anyways. They get in the car laughing drive.
After 5 minutes I "wake up" asking Mom where did they go while I was sleeping. "Oh, sorry baby. We didn't want to wake you so we went to go get launch. Sorry, we forgot to get you something, we'll get you anything you want on the way home."
Great, now I'm angry and starving. I tried to hold back my anger but I couldn't help myself. They completely forgot I was here just like I thought they would.
"Okay but, I'm starting to not feel good and I really don't want to be here anymore. Can we please, please just go home now? I'm really hungry too right now."
Mom looked pretty sad but she also gave this look that told me yeah we should get going, but Dad really wasn't having it.
"Look, buddy, I understand you want to lay in bed and sleep all day, but you have to realize there's more to life than that. Like way more."
"Honey, please! he's just tired alright? I think we should take Desmond back now."
Desmond looked sad, but I really didn't care. I was too mad at Dad more than anything now.
"Okay well, *sigh*. Sorry, Ren, it's just t-that..."
Dad tried really hard to get his words out. "Just spit it out, honey. It's not that hard."
Dad let out another sigh.
"Well, it's just that we still got ONE more place to go to."
The strange look on Mom's and Desmond's face told me that they knew whatever he meant...
"Honey I told you, we can't. Not now, not ever. It's too much weight to bring on all of us after what happened. I don't want Ren to get involved."
"What are you even talking about? It's fine, with all this time that's past do you really think any of that matters now? I mean c'mon, we grew up THERE together. It's where it all began, don't you want to bring those memories back? Why did you think I wanted to come back here? Why did you think we came here at all?"
I was really worried now. What was Dad so eager to see that Mom wasn't? Being hungry and angry didn't help me think straight.
"I mean, I really want to see it but... I don't want to remember what happened. I really miss her Will. I guess I can't stop you now."
Dad saying sadly to Mom, "I do too. But now we can relive our childhood, our teen years, young adult years, you remember all that right?"
Mom looks at me, "Can you please wait just a bit longer? A bit more please?" I mean if it stops the sad look on Desmond's face then I guess so. But seriously though, who is this "her". Whatever. It was Dad I was still mad at.
We were getting close to there, it looked nice going through the neighborhoods, lots of trees and houses. Some were not interesting to look at going farther in. We reached a dead end. There was this one house that looked familiar. Like in a dream I had, not the one I had in the car earlier but one I had last night before we came here. It was here the dream ended, but with ghost swarming everywhere while we drive away from them.
There was an old lady. She was also in the dream, but she's here in real life too. Everyone in the car saw her, they starred at her as she stood there like she was waiting for us. My Dad stepped out of the car with a shocked look on his face. I don't know why be looked familiar in some way...
"C-Clarissa?" Mom and Desmond step out of the car. The old lady stands there with a smile on her face. I couldn't really hear or see what was going on but, I knew it had to be THE her they meant.
They all hugged her and cried one-by-one, well except for Desmond who looked like he knew she was here waving at her giving her a hi and a smile. Did he know that she was here and he didn't even tell Mom or Dad?
If he wasn't special then I wouldn't be letting it slide, did Mom and Dad think she was dead or something? I stepped out of the car to stretch even if it was weird to do at that moment. Mom was holding the old lady tightly.
"W- we thought... *sob* you were gone..." Woah. I never saw Mom cry like that before. Even Dad was crying too. Who is she?
Oh, wait... Now she looks familiar.
