"Midoriya?" Hatsume wandered down the halls, finding no one. Her match was going to be any se-

"Hatsume Mei! Please report to the stage!" Ah, she'd missed the call already. Of course she did.

"Oh, fuck. Alright." She ran downstairs, never knowing Midoriya was only a few doors away.

He heard their conversation. They weren't as far from Midoriya as Shinso thought they were. It chilled him to his core. Hatsume knew? Since when? When did he let it slip?

"Hatsume... How long have you known?"

The battle between Hatsume and Aoyama was short. She showed off her gadgets, let Aoyama use a few, then forfeited. She wanted to have some... exposure? But that was it. She didn't care about winning. 

Aoyama was... happy. He didn't really think it was fair, but he'd take it! He'd go on to the next round, and that was all he wanted. He already exceeded his expectations, after all.

Hatsume and Midoriya didn't see each other for the next week, Midoriya doing his best to avoid her, and she had no idea why. Shinso, as a result, was also sort of avoided, but at least he was talked to. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. 

"The next set of battles will be...

Mina VS Tokoyami,

Bakugo VS Kirishima,

Todoroki VS Momo,

and

Midoriya VS Aoyama!

Their battle was short and one sided, as was Midoriya's. Bakugo just slightly won against Kirishima, and Todoroki just pushed Momo out of bounds with his ice. It was as entertaining to watch as it sounds. (Although I can't seem to word correctly so ur gonna have to deal with this)

"Hey! Aoyama! You did great against Izu!" 

"Did I? I mean, of course I did! Thank you for noticing, Hatsume!"

"Yeah... Did you see where Izu went, though? I need to talk to him."

"No, sorry, mademoiselle. After the battle, he just walked away..."

"I see... Thanks anyways!"

"Haha, of course!" (or honhon ig but thats kinda rude)

Tokoyami VS Bakugo and Midoriya VS Todoroki!

How exciting! A quirkless student made it this far! But how much longer can he hold out? Let us see!"

"Jeez, whoevers announcing is really annoying..." Midoriya mutters to himself. "Especially just commentating on me? Why?"

hey yall im sorry for not rlly getting into the battles bc im rlly lazy and just want to move on from the long ass arc so like yeah they still happened but uh im not writing them i just want to be DONE also next part i wrote to roundabout (yes) so like 1 read it to it bc its fantastic and 2 its fantastic song listen to it either way

"And now! The finale you've all been waiting for! Todoroki VS Bakugo!" The rest was muffled to Midoriya, he didn't care, he'd lost already. It didn't apply to him. He'd just run back to his little hiding place on the botto-

"Midoriya! There you are!"

Hatsune's voice echoed through the empty hallway. 

'Oh god, no, I am not being confronted about this now-'

So he ran. That was all he could do. He ran up the stairs, going as fast as possible. Hatsume couldn't keep up. And that was the last she saw of him, for the next two weeks at least.

Once he'd found himself locked in the top floor's bathroom, he let himself calm down. But it didn't really work, he kept thinking back to his battles. Did he let himself show off too much? Why'd he even agree to do this in the first place? They'd know it was him, Hatsume already did and she didn't even have half of what the police probably did! Or maybe he was just overthinking it all... Maybe no one actually knew, and Hatsume was just telling him about the gloves he'd asked her to fix two or so weeks ago. 

He really hoped it was the latter.
