Gale sat with Altier's grave in the Kingdom of Forgotten Misfits. The wind blew softly around him, grazing his skin. It was quiet here. He remembered a time when this place a was of life. It was anything but quiet.
Gale spent a lot of his time here. He loved the Mars Kingdom and the other kingdoms he had been to but this place was where he felt most at home. With the mixed law, he could not help but feel like an outcast. He was the only mixed person left after all.
He came here to sit with Altier. Even though he was gone, he could still feel him here. Gale was trying to clean up the land and rebuild it. This kingdom was just being wasted. He hoped to rebuild and maybe make this place a safe place for others as well, mixed or not. He wanted people to feel the comfort he felt here and still feels here.
"I wish you could be here. Things always felt easier when you were around. You always knew what to do" Gale spoke softly with a small smile.
He was young when he was in the kingdom but he always remembered looking up to Altier. He was always so calm and kind. He ruled the kingdom with such a gentle hand and he really cared for all his people. He really made everyone feel like they belonged.
Gale sighed. Sadly, he was not here. Altier was gone. He needed to accept it.
"At least I can still be here with you. I hope someday to make this place full of life again."
Gale stood up, placing a hand on the sword that marked his grave to say goodbye. He took another look around the land that was now covered in grass and flowers thanks to Claire. Sometimes he wished he could stay here, but he had to go back to the Mars Kingdom. Funny how all he wanted was to leave. Now all he wanted was to stay.
Gale disappeared, arriving back on the Mars Kingdom. He walked into the palace quickly. The poole here had been nothing but kind to him but he still felt uneasy being out on the streets. They were having enough trouble with the mixed law as it was. He definitely did not want to make things worse.
When he walked inside, he found Adara pacing the floor. He could tell something was bothering her. She had that look on her face.
"What's going on?" Gale asked, shutting the large palace door behind him.
Adara's eyes shot up to him. She let out a sigh of relief, sitting herself down as her leg bounced up and down anxiously.
"I'm glad you're back. Wren is coming to discuss something with me. I don't know what, but with him lately, it's hard to know" Adara replied, shaking her head at the thought.
"It flatters me that I still manage to surprise you."
Wren appeared before them. Gale nodded at him before leaving the room. He stood outside of the room against the wall. This way he could still listen in.
"What is it now Wren?" Adara asked, standing up to cross her arms at him.
"Straight to the point? Alright. It has come to my attention that the mixed has been going to the Kingdom of Forgotten Misfits,"
"His name is Gale" Adara snapped, her brow down as she glared at Wren.
Wren nodded. Gale. The mixed boy. The only mixed still around. Wren saw no reason to know his name. If it were up to him, he would be gone already.
"Right, Gale. It seems he's been going to the Kingdom of Forgotten Misfits. Now, correct me if I am wrong, he isn't a royal?" Wren asked sarcastically.
Adara's arms suddenly felt heavy. They slowly fell to her side. Her heart sank. A look of anxiety washed over her face.
"I feel like there's a rule here. What was it again?"
