Love story 1: Switchers

CHAPTER 3

I'm standing outside the principal's office leaning against the wall, looking up at the roof, thinking. Just thinking. Jared loves to get me, or anyone for that matter, into trouble. I really don't know what's going on in his mind and I don't think that I want to.

Ashley walks through the doors. "Shouldn't you be at home?" I ask her. I have to admit that it's really nice to see her, especially after all that shit with Jared. She just walks up to me and gives me a hug.
"I'm sorry" she says, still hugging me. I've never felt this relaxed in my life. Just one hug could do so much. "I hope that I get a lot more of these." I said to her.
"What?" She asks.
"Hugs" I can't believe what I'm saying.
"Sure"she says, smiling, looking up at me then pulling away slowly. "But really, I'm sorry."
"For what?" I ask her.
"I got you in trouble." I'm still not understanding anything that she's said so far.
"The drawing that you put in Jared's backpack, it was because of me, because I showed you that message"
"No! No, the drawing was my decision. The consequences, that was nothing." I say, now holding her arms. Yes, her arms, not her hands, just below her shoulders.

"Okay" she is saying while walking down the corridor and out through the doors. She still looks upset and I can't let myself believe that she waited half an hour just to tell me that she's sorry. I wasn't even her fault.

I run up to her. "You didn't answer my question."
She stops walking and turns around to look at me. It is drizzling and the sun is still out in the sky.
"What was your question?" she asks me, for some reason smiling.
"Shouldn't you be at your place?" I ask.
"Yeah, I should, but I just wanted to know if you would've liked to come over, and maybe watch a movie?" We both start smiling.
"Yeah, yes, thanks. I'd just like to show you something first."  I say to her, a plan in mind. She starts smiling.
"Okay"
I show her the rainbow that had been formed as we walk through the slight drizzle and the sunny sky. In other words the weird weather. Sorry if I ruined the scenery. I'm just not that touchy, puppy dog eyes kinda guy.
